• Original of Single Status Affidavit, notarized at your place of residency

• Copy of valid passport (bride and groom)

• Original or certified copy of divorce decree or death certificate

• Copy of witnesses passports (not family members)

• If parent’s names are not shown on the birth certificates, please indicate them in your

Single Status Affidavits.

• If name has change after birth certificate, a formal document of this name change should

be submitted.

• You should obtain an apostille for the Notary’s signature on each form.

• Please note that under Dominican law, women who have recently been divorced must wait

a minimum of nine months after the finalization of their divorce before they can remarry.

*All required documents must be translated into Spanish and duly legalized.

The Dominican Civil Status Registry Office does not return the original documents delivered. Your marriage certificate will be given two working days after the ceremony is held.

You do not need to obtain a Marriage License in

the USA, all weddings officiated in the Dominican

Republic are legal and valid worldwide. The

apostille on your official documents is mandatory

for your wedding in the Dominican Republic as we

are members of the La Hague Convention. Please

have your official documents apostilled by your

Secretary of State Office / Foreign Affairs Ministry

/ Foreign Commonwealth Office.
