Introduction
• The Health, Safety and environment (HSE) Site Induction modules is to be used by all site employees including workforce and sub contractors who may be concerned in any way with the operation or work of the company, its property and or premises.
• This induction module is primarily aimed at providing you with the basic information and guidelines which, with your voluntary and firm compliances, will help keeping you Safe while working at site
• This induction module doesn’t however, contain all hazards that you may confront in your day-to-day task.it is then, our individual moral responsibility to proactively foresee, recognize, eliminate and prevent any other potentially unsafe conditions in our own surrounding that can harm us and co- workers in the course of our job. Our immediate responsibility is to protect our self & others from being injured & prevent possible losses to company properties
Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Policy
Defining Health and Safety
Health-Health is defined as both physical and mental wellbeing.
Safety- Safety can be defined as freedom from those conditions that can cause injury or death to personnel or damage or loss of equipment and property.
Environment- the surrounding in which an organization operates including water, land, natural resources, humans and their in relation
Accident- accident is an un planned or un expected event which cause or likely to cause injury to a person, damage to property or environment pollution.
Hazard- hazard is anything with the potential to cause harm.
Risk -risk is the likelihood of potential harm from that hazard being realised.
Injury – Injury can be defined as a harmful condition sustained by the body as a result of an accident.

Incident, Accidents and Injury Reporting
In the event of the Incident, Accident or Near-miss, these steps listed below should be followed: A person should first ensure their own safety, then ensure the safety of others Assess the situation Minimize the risk of further injury by shutting down equipment Secure the area and do not interfere in any way with the accident scene Report the Accident/Incident/Near-miss to the immediate supervisor or Safety Officer
First -Aid
ITCC shall be providing First Aid facilities for his employees and sub contractors A first aid room shall be located on the site. Call First Aider or Supervisors for help if you suffer an injury at Site. All first- aid cases must be reported immediately Small travelling first aid boxes shall be provided in remote areas.
Safety Signage's
Toolbox Talk, and Training
A Tool box talk is a hands-on way to remind workers that health and safety are important on the job. The purpose of this toolbox talk is to plan and create awareness on HSE
related issues in connection to their work/activity on a regular basis. Tool Box Talks are to be conducted by the concerned supervisory staff,
foremen, or safety personnel; daily morning or at beginning of a shift (if there is more than one shift) before the work starts for the workers to discuss and explain and recognize risks involved with each work and HSE procedure and safety precautions / measures/controls to be taken up.
Choose a talk suited to site and work conditions highlighting the hazards like PPE requirements for the task, electrical shock, falls, Emergency preparedness, Environmental aspects and impacts etc…

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Personal Protective Equipment is provided for your work. However you should remember that personal protective equipment is an essential last resort where hazards can not be controlled in any other way. Nobody will be allowed to enter the site without Mandatory PPE like Safety
Helmet, Shoes, Goggles and Coverall Proper PPE required in the site at all times Coming From and Going Into Your Work Location Ensure You Have The
Proper and Appropriate PPE. Anyone found at construction area not wearing the minimum PPEs will be
immediately sent out from the project site and also apply breach of disciplinary code as per the company policy.
Another PPEs shall be provided and worn according the nature of Tasks Eg. Ear Plug, hand gloves, Full body Harness, etc…

- Consuming of alcohol / drugs strictly prohibited
- Smoking in prohibited areas
- Fighting with colleagues and superiors
- Usage of mobile phone while driving

Permit to Work
Work permit is essentially a document that categorically spells out the task, equipment involved, its location, personnel involved, time limitation, and precautionary measures to be taken together with likely hazards to be encountered if any.
Correctly developed work permit system will make an hazardous operation safe and easy to perform.
Common types of permit used at ITCC are
Excavation permit Confined space entry permit Hot work permit The site engineer or the supervisor shall obtain the work permit from the safety officer prior to carry-out the critical task

HAND TOOLS
The main cause of most injuries involving hand tools are the improper use of tools, the use of inappropriate tools, or their unsafe storage
Always Check tools condition before use. Defected hand tools should be turned in their unsafe storage.
ALWAYS use the correct tool for the job, never use spanner as a hammer
Crack
NEVER use damaged or worn tools, hammers with loose heads, files with loose or split handles, chisels with “mushroom” heads, spanners or wrenches with splayed jaws.
Fire Extinguisher Use
Select correct Fire Extinguisher for class of fire
Pull the locking pin Aim the nozzle at base of fire Squeeze and hold the discharge lever Sweep from side to side CAUTION – check the extinguisher is working before attempting to extinguish a fire, then monitor the area, the fire could re-ignite
Fire Prevention
Fire prevention must be everyone's utmost priority. Collection and disposal of construction wastes must
be on daily basic. Smoking in project site areas is only allowed in a
designated smoking areas.
Waste Management
All waste materials must be segregated. All Hazardous waste must be stored in a designated Hazardous waste area.All waste movement shall be recorded.NO disposal of Chemical into soil/drains/sewer.
HousekeepingKeep the floors clean, dry at all times.
Ensure no tripping hazards are created by equipment, hoses, cabling, etc.
Keep tools clean and store them at designated areas.
Don’t dump materials, stack them properly
Stacking and storageTo avoid accidents follow these rules:
Do not store in corridors or path waysthe stack must have a good solid baseuse boxes or containers to avoid them from falling
Vehicle SafetyVEHICLE SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Get trained & obtain a valid QATAR Driving License.
Wear Seat Belts while driving, including passengers.
Follow the Road Signs and Speed Limits.
Maintain the vehicle properly. Ensure vehicle is inspected before
entering Sites. Make use of Signal Man when
reversing (Heavy Vehicles & Equipments.)
Site Management requires all employees must :
• Follow All safety rules.• Obey All instructions• Do not take short cuts.• Keep your work area clean and tidy.• Report All injuries and hazards promptly• Take care of yourself and your friends working around you.• Do not carry out work if it is unsafe.• Understand and communicate safety requirements incorporated into
the project safety plan.• Eliminate/reduce major safety and health hazards.• Ensure adequate supplies of personal protective equipment are
provided.• Address any safety issue raised.
