1. SPIRITUALITY
Why? The spiritual level of the church will not rise above that of its leadership, pastor and elders.

Personal Ask:How do I grow spiritually? What does a strong spiritual life look like? A daily walk with Christ will allow me to show others how to walk with Him daily.

How to assist your pastor:
Help him lift the load of leading the church forward to accomplish its mission. Help him lift the load of caring for the flock do God.Help him lift the load of mobilizing the church for ministry.

Pray daily for him and his family.
Encourage him to live a balanced life - personal/family/ministry. Encouragement is the key!

Pick some ideas that he brings to the leadership and support him in them.
Wally - "I don't know if what the pastor suggests will work, but I am willing to support the idea. We've had pastors who did not have any ideas." (parking lot ministry / attendance of members)

Do not be critical! Criticism kills unity and spirituality. It grieves away the Holy Spirit of God. Disunity among the elders will create conflict and disunity among the church.
Especially will criticism of the pastor create conflict.

David Asserrick: What do you think about when I say “Book of Acts"? We fall into a trap when we look at the Book of Acts as the perfect or ideal state of the church.
The Book of Acts is very human - just like the rest of the Bible.

Other side of Acts is: hypocrisy, selfishness, pettiness, theological disputes, leaders of the church who God had to grow theologically, leaders of the church who did not agree with each other, politics in the church, etc. Does this sound anything like what is going on in your church? God uses ordinary people to accomplish His work.

An extraordinary God accomplishes extraordinary things through ordinary people.
We fall into a trap when we evaluate pastors and Conf. Presidents and Union Presidents, and General Conference Presidents expecting more of them then we do of ourselves.
We should evaluate leaders as we would evaluate ourselves.
