Oldham NHS Centre Integrated Care Centre extends its fibre-optic connectivity by appointing ITS Technology Group as their partner of choice for 20 year deal.
The Challenge
In December 2011, following the opening of the brand new Werneth Primary Care Centre, there was a mission critical requirementto link the new site with Oldham Integrated Care Centre (part of the Royal Oldham hospital) one of the largest primary carefacilities in the UK in order to securely and quickly transfer large patient files in order to offer life saving care to the community.
A second phase was also identified in mid-2012 that sees the Royton Health and Well Being Centre along with amission critical supply centre at Qubeck Street also needing to be connected.
The Solution
• ITS Technology Group was awarded the contract for the supplyand management of a superfast, resilient, fibre-opticinfrastructure link to all the sites . The network was not onlycompleted with minimal disruption, but also in record time.
• With additional work being completed within the Royton site, staff will now benefit from active management of thesuperfast, resilient, fibre optic infrastructure on a fixed andpredictable cost of ownership basis.
“ It’s important that our health and wellbeing services are supported by efficient, reliable and cost effective IT systems. I’m very pleased to be working with ITS Technology Group to deliver this.”
Paul Lyons, Head of IT NHS Oldham.

Aberdeen City Council (ACC), were looking for a partner organisation that could deliver a City wide Managed service to its portfolio of over 90 schools.
The Challenge
The service required was the provision of connectivity at a minimum of 10Mbps full duplex to all the primary schools, and up to 100Mbps for all of the high schools and academies.
After a lengthy and stringent procurement process via the OGC Government procurement portal, ACC awarded ITS Technology Group Ltd (ITS) the schools connectivity project on the basis of quality and cost.
ITS worked with ACC to provide a fully managed Wide Area Network (WAN) including all the layer 3 switching.
“We had to overcome several obstacles during the establishment of our new network infrastructure
and ITS have delivered these with no downtime or loss of email connectivity which was key to us at
the time. We would highly recommend ITS”.
Oliver Lightowlers, Chief Financial Officer
The Solution
• The network topology consists of a 400Mbps diversely routed core ring, using licensed radio located on Council owned multi storey buildings.
• From these high sites the network then reaches out using lite-licensed technology to connect all the primary schools in to the core network in both Point To Point and Point To Multipoint modes.
• The core network provides full diversity from three separate routes and dual polarity on each of the links, this means that in the unlikely event of an equipment failure, the network traffic will aggregate across the remaining link and load balance via the diverse route to maintain service at all times to the edge site hubs on the core.

Crabtree Hall just didn’t want a supplier- they wanted a partner who would invest in a long term partnership to deliver transformational change to the area
The Challenge
Crabtree Hall is a rural business centre positioned yards from the A1 just north of Leeming Bar in North Yorkshire. Located centrally between the market towns of Northallerton and Bedale (Both of which have BT Superfast exchanges) they were unable to provision high speed internet for their tenants and business owners.
The Idea was simple, a superfast connection to be shared by the Tenants of the Business centre and good enough to host on site email servers etc and to offer a carrier class Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service giving all the added features over and above standard BT Phone lines and telephone switches
The Solution
• ITS designed and procured a network utilising a Fibre end point but brought that into the site on a dedicated radio link over a commercial telecoms tower and Church Spire giving Crabtree instant 100Mbps availability. (Note the Fibre end point is 26Km away).
• Each business now enjoys its own Data/Internet network delivering with their own firewall and a common VoIP system has been deployed with a Quality of Service (QoS) system implemented internally.
• The network benefits from a comprehensive SLA giving 99.9% availability and high capacity speeds. The VoIP service has made flexible and home working a robust and cost effective solution.
• The project has enabled Crabtree Hall to offer its tenants a 21st century Internet service with the flexibility to expand and offer other services such as Rural Community Broadband.

Hamilton Black Delivering Connectivity to High Spec ‘Boutique’ Student Halls of Residence.
The Challenge
Hamilton Black, a Bolton based independent property development and investment company, started to develop and manage highly affordable, high spec ‘boutique’ student accommodation. Working to an extremely tight deadline.
The Solution
ITS Technology Group won the initial Hamilton Black contract to provide the superfast Wi-Fi over fibre-optic connectivity infrastructures for its new halls of residence in both Bolton and Leeds.
The Results
“ITS Technology Group are now our defacto partner for IT connectivity in to all our projects and are now live across 12 sites nationwide supporting +2,000 students. We also use ITS for own internal ICT requirements.”
“Price and Quality is always critical, and never more so than when you are dealing with ‘hard up’ students but they still demand high quality facilities and that includes fast, resilient and reliable internet and connectivity
services. ITS clearly demonstrated that it understands our market and could deliver a really cost effective solution”
Lyndon Forshaw, Managing Director
