"It's the most wonderful time of the year!" It is so wonderful for me to share in the excitement and anticipation of the Christmas season with your children! December is a busy time of year. In the last few weeks, we have been very busy preparing for our December Program. It was wonderful to see all our children on the stage. Not long ago they were still crying when you dropped them at school, and now they are confident and have grown so much. We hope you have enjoyed the little play. Many thanks to all of you for the wonderful costumes you bought or made for your children, they all looked so cute! Welcome During this quarter, we have welcomed a couple of new children to our Early Childhood Center. We hope that all our new children and their parents, as well as our existing children and parents, are enjoying their time with us. Thank You The newsletter also provides a good opportunity to say ‘thank-yous’. A special thank you to all those parents who have helped out this past term, especially for your generosity in the contributions to the Pot Luck Programme. I also want to give many thanks to our wonderful staff team who put in so much time and effort with all the ideas and preparation that is behind all the activities and resources that the children enjoy here at our school. Farewell We say a sad farewell to Teacher Assistant, Ei Mya Ko, from Nursery (K) and we welcome Thandar Kyaw, previously our Admin Coordinator, into the classroom. Happy Holidays! Yangon Early Childhood Center will be closed for the Holidays beginning Wednesday, 21 December. Classes will resume on Monday, 9 January 2017. We all hope you all enjoy the festive season, have a good holiday break and we wish everyone a very happy, prosperous and peaceful New Year. Play is such an integral part to childhood that a child who does not

have the opportunities to play is cut off from a major portion of

childhood.

As we come to the end of our first semester, I would like to wish you a very peaceful

and happy Christmas. The first semester has been a busy and fun term filled with

birthdays, celebrations, field trips, and so much more. We have enjoyed exploring new

things, discovering and meeting new friends and teachers, and learning through

exploration and play. Thank you so much for sharing your children with us, and trusting

them in our care! It brings us complete joy to watch your children grow, learn, and

develop into capable,

communicative children!

We have enjoyed our time with all

of the families this school year.

On 30 October , the Pre-Nursery class paid a visit to Thiri’s home. It was a very exciting event for our students. The children got a chance to observe a new environment. The visit also provided a wonderful opportunity for the Pre-Nursery students to learn firsthand about social interaction and sharing. All the Pre-Nursery students were very happy to play with lots of toys and water play and all of them said they would like to visit again. We had a very nice time.

We would like to thank Thiri’s family. They showed us great hospitality and provided us with a whole new experience, that surely adds to our unforgettable firsts.
