DESCRIPTION
Zaizi’s winning proposal presented at the J. boye conference in Aarhus, Denmark. Zaizi submitted a proposal to build a semantic research tool in Alfresco ECM as part of the IKS Semantic UX Contest. The Zaizi search tool will provide a number of searching techniques across the whole repository. Although these are described separately the search tool will combine different types of search within the same user interface and allow users to switch between different methods and views of the assets. Importantly, users should be able to navigate through the assets and be provided with different avenues of investigation. They should also be able to change criteria and filters as they go with an emphasis on exploration. The wire frame in the next section is an example to illustrate particular search approaches.

Our solution is to provide a semantic search tool
allowing users to use a number of searching
techniques.
Why ?
72% of companies thinks that it’s harder to find information owned by their organization than information not owned by them – i.e, on the Web.

This technique allows searching using ontology and taxonomy terms.
Not limited to a specific ontology.
Must adapt to the underlying ontology.
Full cross data ontological searching across the repository.

To concentrate on searching material on a particular object or subject and therefore narrow down the potential results from the outset.
To view related material outside the particular sphere to provide a view providing contextual information.

Relationships to be discovered should extend to data sources outside the CMS content, including DBpedia.
The system should allow for the expansion of these different data sources which can be chosen within the search tool including web sites that use the RDFa standard.

Once a user built a search query that returns the required set of results, they should be able to save the search query.
They should be able to re-run the search and view the results at a later date.
Manage a list of saved searches.
They should be able to share the saved searches with other CMS users.
