BrigItte Sandoval of Carnzozohas been named one of two volunteerTeenage Women of the year for theUntted States by the GeneralFederation of Women's Clubs (GFwe). The announcement of the awardcame this past weekend at theWomen's Oub annual convention Incarlsbad.
Criteria for the award Includedservice to the community. All GFWCclubs were elegible to nominate acandidate for the state awards. Thecompetition was open to all womenwho are actively engaged in any formof volunteer service on a national.state or local level, New Mexico'sclub nominations were judged by apanel of judges who selected anouts~nding teenage volunteer fromtheir state. Selection took into con·sideration the achievements thathave helped to preserve the AmericanWay of Life through individual contributions of time and effort.
