As a company with roots in Texas from the 1950s, we have proven and matured in our knowledge, experience and capabilities to provide seamless Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) services. Serving the region across Southeast Asia, Eastern Russia, China and Australia, exporting facilities to the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, and supporting J. Ray project teams around the world, we have the depth and breadth to adapt to dynamic market conditions. We also have the flexibility and versatility to cover the full spectrum of field development, from fixed and floating to subsea facilities.

Our engineers provide a full range of design services to the upstream oil and gas industry and are intimately familiar with fabrication and installation practices. Experienced marine, structural and multi-discipline engineers have a proven track record in the design, analysis and management of medium to large engineering projects covering the full range of offshore structures, production facilities and pipelines.

We also focus on the growing needs for deep- and ultra-deepwater field development. With more than 20 years and 400 projects completed in subsea field development, Mentor Subsea provides a complete range of engineering services, and integrated solutions: subsea systems and structures, pipelines, flow assurance and operability, risers and SCRs, ROV intervention and site integration testing.

From engineering offices in Singapore and Jakarta, Indonesia, we base designs on your project’s unique start-up and operation requirements. FEED studies, cost estimates and time schedules draw on actual data from Asia Pacific projects, as well as the substantial resources from J. Ray worldwide and its Lessons Learned and Knowledge Management systems. FabricationBatam Island, Indonesia

Over the years, we have tailored our Batam Island fabrication facility to provide the variety and quality of work processes necessary to respond to the demands of the industry.

Located on the north coast of Batam Island in the Riau Archipelago of Indonesia and just 19 kilometers southeast of the Republic of Sin-gapore, our fabrication facility serves the oil and gas industry in Asia Pacific, as well as export markets of the Gulf of Mexico, Australia, Europe, West Africa and Indian sub-continent.

As a result of current expansion and continuous improvement in equipment and facilities, with the launch of our Craft & Training Centre at Batam, we have significantly improved personnel resources through intense training. Our capacity has multiplied and our scope of work has increased from purely topside fabrication to include

module-to-hull integration for FPSOs, large integrated topsides, float-over topsides, Spars and onshore LNG modules.

In just 30 months, we safely fabricated, loaded out, installed and integrated more than 32,000 MT of topsides; carried out 26 major lifts; pulled 465 kilometers of instrument and electrical cables; gen-erated 27,500 as-built drawings and conducted more than 34,000 individual inspection tests for the Belanak project. At the same time, we built an FPSO berthing facility capable of handling vessels up to 300,000 deadweight tons and over 300 meters long.

Recent infrastructure upgrades have enabled us to simultaneously fabricate three large integrated decks, totalling 45,000 MT for three separate projects.

Over the past 37 years, our best-in-class teams have fabricated over 660 structures, weighing more than 630,000 MT. Included in this track record are jacket structures, deck topsides, process modules, pipework and all required ancillary appurtenances — living quarters, boat landings, barge bumpers, riser guards, skid-mounted equipment packages and single-buoy mooring systems.

Focusing on FPSO construction and integration, J. Ray’s new joint venture with a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) covers more than 45 hectares in Qingdao, Shandong, China, strategically located at the Qingdao Hai Xi Wan Economic and Technical Development Zone.

The new company, Qingdao McDermott Wuchuan Offshore Engineering Company, Ltd., combines J. Ray’s integrated EPCI capabilities and more than 60 years of international market experience and mature systems, with Wuchuan’s reputable and cost-effective hull-building capabilities and strong mar-ket presence.

CSIC, a leading shipbuilder in China has two new shipyards adjacent to the new facility, with one floating dock and five dry docks capable of accommodating vessels up to 50,000 deadweight tons. The McDermott Wuchuan facility includes structural and pipe shops, blasting and painting facilities, module assembly buildings, covered warehousing and lay down areas, initially permitting annual throughout of nearly 300,000 MT.

McDermott Wuchuan offers competitive, comprehensive solutions, initially focusing on construction and integration, and eventually on complete EPCI projects for FPSOs, and ultimately all types of structures.

Qingdao, China

Covering a total of 104 hectares, the open fabrication area is served with 134 utility stations for welding equipment, fully equipped pre-fabrication shops, pipe rolling mills, and dedicated carbon steel and exotic materials pipe shops.

Established in the 1970s to be fully self-sufficient, the yard has its own power supply and water treatment. We take care of our staff at our medical clinic and provide health care to their families. On-site facilities also include expatriate housing, a school, recreation and training facilities.

Staffed with highly skilled and trained personnel, the yard is com-mitted to Safety and Total Quality Management, as evidenced by ISO 9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, API Monogram, SSPC/QP1 and SSPC/QP3 certifications.

Complementing each partner's strengths, McDermott Wuchuan envisions long-term success

Operating out of our Batam Island marine base, our experienced offshore crews and field engineers, versatile marine construction fleet and essential support services provide the resources needed to execute the most demanding offshore installation projects. And our strategic location allows rapid mobilization of people, vessels, equipment and delivery of facilities to any market in the region.

Our capabilities include the full range of offshore structural and mooring system installation work, with heavy-lifting capacity up to

MarineInstallation 3,175 MT. On structural components of weights beyond barge-lift

capabilities, we offer innovative, cost-effective in-house methods.

We recently launched a 22,861 MT-jacket — the largest built to date in China — and installed two processing platform topsides in a single piece using float-over techniques: Arthit, at 18,000 MT and Su Tu Vang, at 15,000 MT.

Since 1980 we have laid 4,317 miles or 7,000 kilometers of pipelines throughout the region, primarily using the efficient S-Lay method. Equipped with state-of-the-art welding systems — J. Ray McDermott Automatic Welding System (JAWS), Bug and Band Welding System (JBBS) and a multi-joint welding facility — our offshore crews pro-duce high-quality welds at record pipelay rates.

Our fleet includes four derrick/pipelay barges and the Intermac 650 launch/cargo barge. Typically based in Asia, it was recently custom-ized by J. Ray engineers to include a highly sensitive and fast ballast system, limiting exposure to environmental risks offshore during float-over installations.

Our versatile and unique marine installation capabilities cover all types of offshore construction developments, from subsea to above-surface.
