Priority is employment of local citizen
Number of workers approved is based on ratio/quota
Employers should treat both local and foreign workers equally without any discrimination
Employers shall provide accommodation for foreign workers – Guidelines on Foreign Workers Minimum Standard for Housing
Levy to be paid by the employer
Minimum Wage shall also apply to foreign workers
Employer must adhere to the provisions of the Employment Act 1955
Export Orientated Company Criteria
Value of export should be at least RM50 million; or
Percentage of export should be at least 50% and fulfills any one of the criteria below:
Value of local contents should be at least 40% or
Value added of the product should be at least 30% or
Capital Investment Per Employee (CIPE) should be at least RM 100,000
Non-Export Orientated Company
Criteria Paid up Capital should be at least RM 100,000; and
Value of Sales should be at least RM2 million; and fulfills any one of the criteria below:
Value of local contents should be at least 40% or
Value added of the product should be at least 30% .
