As I reflect on JDA’s progress since our firm started in 2001, identifying the right staff for each engagement emerges as one of our notable, consistent strengths. Our associates offer a proven combination of specialized training and experience, technical competence, desire, and effort that connects with our clients to exceed their expectations.

That’s why I’m excited to introduce our five new hires, recruited from across the country to help us continue supporting projects requiring multidisciplinary approaches to airport and other transportation improvements, community and urban planning, and project development and implementation. Collectively, these individuals bring expertise in facility and construction management; architecture and historical preservation; design, transportation and land-use planning; and backgrounds in business administration, finance, and human resources. Each has already contributed to ongoing and diverse planning and implementation projects across the country.

Since joining JDA as a project analyst for the Lambert-St. Louis Airport Residential Sound Insulation Program (RSIP), Amanus has been monitoring and inspecting the construction services performed by contractors as well as negotiating the many other ad hoc tasks required to manage the interaction between contractors and homeowners. Amanus has contributed significantly to the implementation of the RSIP program in the communities near Lambert-St. Louis, ensuring quality work is delivered within budget and to the satisfaction of the client. With over 100 homes under his supervision, he is building a strong reputation with contractors and homeowners for his contributions to the overall success of the program. Before joining JDA, Amanus worked in construction management on several projects at Washington University in St. Louis assisting in monitoring MBE/WBE utilization.

Amanus is currently pursuing his degree in Construction Management/Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.

Chris joins JDA as a project analyst in our Michigan office. His current project work includes performing obstruction analysis for runways at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW), updating the Airport Layout Plan, and developing conceptual site plan exhibits for a land-use study for DTW and Willow Run Airports. He is also applying his background in design and transportation planning to create potential development scenarios for ongoing and future projects at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

On previous airport projects across the country, Chris has handled a range of assignments. He developed the monthly program reports for projects in the Capital Improvements Program at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and the conceptual site plan alternatives for the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport Noise Land Reuse Plan. He also performed jet blast analysis for Birmingham International Airport and helped develop exhibits for the Richmond International Airport Environmental Assessment and Omaha’s Eppley Airfield Master Plan Update.

Chris earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan.

Bringing expertise in design, facility management, and construction management, Marcel joins JDA as a project analyst in our Michigan office. In his previous employment, Marcel worked on designing and planning projects in Baton Rouge and New Orleans including O. Perry Walker High School and the Louisiana School for the Deaf. While at JDA, he has provided construction administration services for the Lambert-St. Louis Airport’s Residential Sound Insulation Program. As a construction project inspector, he monitored and inspected contractor services as well as managed the interaction between contractors, homeowners and the airport staff. He earned an outstanding reputation for ensuring that construction projects were completed according to the specification, schedule, and budget. Marcel is currently developing exhibits for the Wayne County Airport Authority Integrated Land Use & Strategic Plan, as well as for Omaha’s Eppley Field Master Plan Update.

Marcel holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Southern University and A&M College and is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Organization of Minority Architects.

With practical experience that ranges from construction management to graphic design, Patrick joins JDA as a project analyst in our Michigan office. His notable accomplishments include evaluating wayfinding and signage for the Chicago’s Midway Airport Consolidated Rental Car Facility and for the Detroit Metro Wayne County Airport’s North Terminal. His graphic abilities were utilized in the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport Environmental Management System Report and the Cleveland Department of Port Control 2011-2014 Strategic Plan. Patrick created the conceptual floor plans for the renovation of Idlewild’s historic Flamingo Club as part of the Yates Township Comprehensive Master Plan. He is currently working on the Wayne County Airport Authority’s Land Use and Development Strategy, developing focus areas to enhance airport operations and promote regional economic activity,

Patrick earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan with honors. He is an accomplished jazz pianist and featured performer at venues throughout Southeast Michigan.

Suzan brings to JDA a great understanding of financial, human resources, and administrative principles to support the company’s administrative needs. She has over 30 years of experience in the business arena and will manage the essential business practices to support all JDA associates and clients.

As an administrative assistant in our Michigan office, Suzan is currently responsible for the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program efforts, SBA 8(a) and small business initiatives ensuring all certification are updated and current. She also manages client contracts, internal bookkeeping, human resources, invoicing and other internal processes. Her work extends to overseeing the administrative needs of JDA’s office representatives in five states – Illinois, Louisiana, Arizona, Michigan and Missouri.

Before joining JDA, Suzan was the executive assistant to the Managing Director of CIT Group, Inc of Ann Arbor where she supported the company’s healthcare team.
