The Jam-e-Masjid Islamic Center Inc. was established in May, 1988 as a non-profit religious educational organization to serve the Muslim community. It is a community-based organization depending on its volunteers to enable the development of a model Islamic society based on the guidance from the Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to maximize our reverence towards Allah (most gracious most merciful). The dedicated volunteers work in harmony towards the community’s efforts to:

• Build and sustain a progressive religious and cultural center for fulfilling our spiritual and social responsibilities.• Facilitate Islamic education for children and adults.• Build strong and cohesive relationships within the community irrespective of ethnicity, race, and religion.• Enhance peace and justice.• Develop a culture of caring.

JMIC Inc. currently offers the following services to its community: Islamic Educational services from nursery up to third grade through Alphabet Land and American Islamic Academy; Sunday Islamic School for Kindergarten to grade 12 & Adult Education; Community Services; Social Services include: Islamic Nikah and Full Islamic Funeral Services, inclusive of cemetery plots. JMIC’s Community Hall on the main floor is available for Community functions at a reasonable rental charge for conducting various social, educational, and religious events. JMIC Inc. has facilitated the creation of a “Working Group” to advance the spirit of volunteering and participation of committed, well deserving, experienced community members in JMIC sponsored activities. These activities help in building and sustaining a progressive Islamic society to meet the spiritual and social needs of its community. The following working groups are functional currently: Religion and Education Committee, Publication Committee, Fundraising Committee, Social Committee, Youth Committee, Community Outreach Committee, Dawah and Interfaith Committee, and Hifd/Tajweed Committee. The community members are highly encouraged to join these committees.

And it is He Who has caused the two seas to flow, this palatable and sweet, and that saltish and bitter; and between them He has placed a barrier and a great partition.” (The Qur’an, 55:19-20)

Oceanographers now discovered that seas come together but do not mingle with each other due to differences in their surface tension and density.

The first ten days of Zhulhijjah are among the most magnificent days in the Islamic calendar. The Holy Prophet (pbuh), has said, “One fast during these days is equal to the fasting of one complete year, and the worship of one night during this period is equal to the worship in the “Lailatul-Qadr”(Tirmidhi)
