This approach views children, families and educators as competent, capable of complex thinking, curious and rich in potential.The Ontario Early Years Centre: Brant offers a number of FREE services for parents, caregivers, educators and young children ages 0 to 6 years. These services include:

Parent/Caregiver Workshops and Parent/Caregiver & Child Workshops Early Years Literacy Workshops and Resources Resource Library with Toy Lending (0 - 12 years) and Equipment Room Quality Child Care Information and Directory Transportation Support Community Outreach and Events Professionals, Educators and Caregivers Services and SupportsInformation about other Community Programs and Services

When you are registering: Make the commitment to attend or call us with your cancellation so that someone else can benefit from
the experience. If you do not attend the first session in a series without making previous arrangements, your space will
be given to the next person on the cancellation list.
Taking Photos or Recordings in Programs Families are reminded when using the programs offered by the OEYC: Brant that not all participants wish to have their own or their children’s photos taken. To protect the privacy of all participants:
before taking a picture ask a staff member for permission and you must receive permission from individuals that will appear clearly recognizable in the picture if the photographed individuals are under 18 years, the photographer should receive permission from
the parent or guardian. get consent before such photos are posted to social media websites.
Looking for more workshops? Ontario Early Years Centre: Brant offers Continuous Professional Learning Opportunities for
Professionals, Educators and Caregivers. To view these workshops go to www.eycbrant.ca/oeyc or pick up a copy in our Resource Library. There is a minimal fee for some of the workshops to cover the cost of materials. Children cannot be accommodated for Continuous Professional Learning Opportunity workshops.

Integrated Services in the Ontario Early Years Centre: Brant Programs Talking Tots, the Brant County Preschool Speech and Language System
Speech Language Pathologist from Talking Tots, the Brant County Preschool Speech and Language system, is available at the Ontario Early Years Centre: Brant to complete an individual speech and language screening with your child.
This service is available by appointment only. Screening can be completed with children between the ages of 6 months to eligibility for Senior
Kindergarten entry. Call 519-753-7453 if you would like to schedule a screening for your child.
Child Development Outreach The Infant and Child Development Program of Lansdowne Children’s Centre provides developmental
screening for children aged 0 to 5 years, 11 months. A screen will provide information about your child’s individual strengths and needs. Referrals to other community services can also be made if recommended. To arrange a screen appointment, call Michelle Connell at 519-753-3154, x 206.
18 month screens – the Infant and Child Development Program is running a pilot project with a focus on screening 18 month old children – 18 months is the optimal time to identify children in need of extra support so that intervention can be successful before school entry. Call Erin Thomson at 519-753-3154 to arrange a screen for children aged 17 - 18 months.
