Happy New Year Well I figured I might make the “front page” at some point in my life and am very glad it is here! It is a new year and a new beginning here at the center. Shari’s new beginning in her retirement is bittersweet. It is tough for all of us to see her step down but similar to other events in life it is in- evitable and we are all happy for her and know she has worked very hard to get to this point in her life. My succeeding Shari is a daunting task yet so worth it because of all of you. The success of the mission of the cen- ter relies only in part on the direction of the staff and board of directors. The real credit goes to all of you who understand and desire to participate in this community, thus fulfilling the mission. I want to applaud each and every one of you as members and all who volunteer for your participation. It really is all about “we” and I can promise you I will do everything I can to carry on Shari’s vision for our continued success. Thank you for your openness in this transition and know that I sincerely care about each of you and hope to serve you in the same spirit that you are accustomed. Rewarding: Giving personal satisfaction- (a rewarding occupation.) Web-

ster’s Dictionary.

A rewarding occupation is exactly what working at the Senior Center is for me.

I am so grateful to be working here, meeting new “friends”, renewing old friend-

ships and feeling like I’m making a difference.

In the short time I have been here I realize how much “good” is done everyday.

The staff is great to work with, and the volunteers are so hard working, the build-

ing is open to all folks for all events, like cribbage, chair yoga, crafts, bridge, strong

bones, meals and fellowship. As I said in the beginning REWARDING!!!!!

The Senior Center is a place for all people. Team Spirit with team players.
