School Resumes for Students on January 3rd: Welcome back!!! We hope everyone had agreat winter break! School will resume for all students on Thursday, January 3, at 7:50 a.m.We will look forward to seeing everyone back in 2019!
Basketball Additional Games: Our boys’ and girls’ teams will play AT CURTIS onWednesday, January 9th, at 3:30 p.m. Our girls’ team will play Sunrise Christian Academy atRobinson on Monday, January 14th, at 3:45 p.m. These games are in addition to the athleticschedule published by the USD 259 Athletic Office.
Report Cards: Second quarter report cards will be sent home with students on January 7th. We will send aParentLink message reminding you to look for your student’s report card. Please take time to review yourchild’s report card and set goals for the second semester. Middle school matters! Eligibility to play sports andparticipate in activities such as cheerleading, dance team, NAL, etc… is determined by the previous semester’sgrades. This is especially important for 8th graders to remember as they prepare to transition to high school!
PTSO, Site Council, and Foundation: Our next PTSO meeting is scheduled for February 12th at 7:00 p.m. inthe Robinson cafeteria. At this meeting, PTSO will start planning the 8th grade dance. If you are willing to helpwith this endeavor, please join us on the 12th so planning can begin! Our next Foundation meeting is scheduledfor Tuesday, February 12th at 6:00 p.m. These meetings are held in the Robinson cafeteria and start 6:00 p.m.Please join us!
Conferences: Winter conferences will be held on February 6th, 7th, and 8th. You will be receiving a preferencesheet from your child’s conference teacher this month to choose conference dates and times. Please be on thelookout for that sheet!
Pre-IB Applications: Pre-IB applications are available for the 2019-20 school year. If you know anyone whois interested in the Pre-IB program, please encourage them to apply. Applications and additional informationregarding the program can be found on our website www.usd259.org/robinson Parent information nights arescheduled for January 18 and January 30 beginning at 6:00 in the Robinson auditorium. All application materi-als are due by the end of the day on Monday, February 4, 2019.
No School: There will be no school for students on Monday, January 21, in observance of Martin Luther King,Jr. Day!

Robinson Chess TeamCongratulations to the Robinson Chess team! They are pictured above with the 1st place team trophy at theCollegiate tournament on Saturday, December 1st.
In the picture from left to right:Caleb Steele, Bo Lu, Avalyn Ngo, Renton Smartt, Sydney Hoover, Jolyn Jacobs-Garza, and Ethan Lau.
Missing from the picture are Lana Shaheen and Kilian McGaffin who had to leave before we took the picture.
Special thanks to the team coach, Andrew Lau (Ethan's dad) for coaching and guiding this team to success.
This is a strong team and is bringing a lot of good attention towards Robinson Middle School!
