Dear Friends in Christ,
Peace and Joy on this Feast of the Lord’s Epiphany!
Allow me to thank you for all your Christmas gifts, wishes, prayers, and love. I am blessed and grateful to be part of our faith community, previously linked and twinned from our two churches of rich religious tradition and history. Great to be a father of one now, after being a father of twins for a year.
I am grateful to the Arts and Environment Team, as I may call it, for our two places of worship. They did a marvelous, magnificent and truly wonderful job in decorating elegantly our churches for Christmas.
For St. Jerome Church, I am thankful to Christine Scholtz for leading the Team. She listed the team members in a separate corner of this bulletin along with their respective responsibilities. Christine also prepared us spiritually in organizing and heading the Vespers for the four Sundays of Advent.
For St. Mary’s Church, thank you to the volunteers, who were there on December 23. An Angel, who wants to remain anonymous, spent a big chunk of her time in ordering and arranging the flowers for Christmas. She single handedly had colorful poinsettias on the base of the Blessed Mother Statue in our main high altar. Angels do have wings.
Till then. See you in Church and have a blessed weekend.

Debt Reducon Collecon Weekend THIS WEEKEND
The November debt reducon collecon was $2,262.00 which we paid directly toward principal. Thank you for your generosity. Did you know that in addition to our waterproofing work on the interior and exterior walls and underground of the church, all the windowsills in the basement were raised by 8
inches to further prevent drainage problems seeping in through the windows? All new basement windows were then installed.

Mary’s Motherhood
“Do not be afraid to take Mary as your Mother in the journey of life! Let Mary be a model for you of how to follow Jesus. Do not be afraid to enter into
confidence with her, to entrust to her maternal hands all problems, all concerns, all expectations and plans. Above all, confide in her the plan that
concerns your entire life.”
St John Paul II
Here’s One Posive Encouragement
It’s now 2019 and 6 days into the new year. What resolutions are you making for the new year? Let me guess: you are going to exercise more, watch what you eat, be kinder to others, attend mass more often, etc. Same old, same old. Why not try something new, a resolution to enhance your closeness with God. How about reading a Bible passage, saying the rosary and really meditating on each decade, or reading books on religion or being a Catholic? Set a goal of being able to explain, not defend why you are a Catholic by year’s end. Just because you were baptized as a Catholic or because your whole family is Catholic does not cut it. Next December you will have fulfilled your New Year’s resolution and truly know and understand why you are a Catholic.

MARCH FOR LIFE 2019 ~ WASHINGTON D.C.
The March for Life began as a small demonstraon in 1973 and rapidly grew to be the largest pro-life event in the world. The peaceful demonstraon that has followed on this somber anniversary is a witness to the truth concerning the greatest human rights violaon of our me: aboron. Join us and half a million pro-lifers as we head to Washington, D.C. on Friday, January 18, 2019 for the 46th annual March For Life. Always peaceful and upliing, The March For Life offers you the opportunity to stop in at your federal legislators' offices and let them know how you feel (and vote!).
