may pick up your transcript after
48 hours. We do not mail tran-

Univision 34 Atlanta “Liga de
Campeones” Scholarship recog-
nizes Latino seniors who have a
GPA of 3.0 or higher, are bilingual,
and who have community involve-
ment or athletic achievements. Two students per month,
(one male and one female) will be chosen to receive
$1,000. Applications are due to the committee by the 1st
of each month beginning in November 2010 through May
2011. Deadline 1st of each month.
Gates Millennium Scholarship
MCHS is proud to have scholar winners in 2007, 2008,
2009, & 2010!! Each of our winners have received a full
ride scholarship to the college of their choice! This schol-
arship is for outstanding students who have significant
financial need and demonstrate leadership skills. You
also must be either African American, American Indi-
an/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander or Hispanic. The
application is very lengthy and can be found at
www.gmsp.org. Deadline: Jan. 10
The Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship - $1,500/year
is available to Gwinnett County students who have ap-
plied or have been accepted to a college or university.
Selection is based on outstanding academics and will
have continued academic achievement. An essay, tran-
script, SAT/ACT score is required. Only one student
from MCHS can be nominated to move forward. Com-
plete Scholarship Request Form for the “Draft” applica-
tion. Deadline: January 12 to Mrs. Zimmer.
NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award if you are running
your own small business, you need to apply for this
scholarship. www.nfib.com/yef Deadline: January 12
APIASF Scholarship Program is offered to Asian and/or
Pacific Islander ethnicity. Requirements are GPA 2.7+,
letter of recommendation, community service and leader-
ship activities. You must apply for FAFSA by Feb. 1.

Gwinnett Technical College is offering The Hudgens
Scholarship. If you are ineligible for the HOPE scholar-
ship, exemplify leadership, and want to pursue an Asso-
ciate Degree at Gwinnett Tech this scholarship is for
you! Deadline: January 20
Jackson EMC is offering three scholarships. The Walter
Harrison Scholarship $1,000 (based on financial need
& academic ability), The A.T. Sharpton Gainesville
State College Scholarship (for students planning to
attend Gainesville State College, who have financial
need, academic ability, class rank, and SAT/ACT scores),
The A.T. Sharpton Unrestricted Scholarship (for stu-
dents currently enrolled or a current acceptance letter at
any two or four year college/university, financial need,
academic average, class rank, SAT/ACT scores). All
scholarships require being a Jackson EMC customer,
letter of acceptance confirming admission to your college,
high school transcript, SAT/ACT scores, two recommen-
dations, essay, also copy of most recent Federal Income
Tax Return. Application is available online

The J. Alvin Wilbanks Teaching Scholarship - $2,500
is available to students who plan to enter the teaching
profession. An essay, transcript, and letter of reference
are required. Return the completed application to

The Louise Radloff Scholarship Program - $2,500 is
available to students who have overcome a significant
personal obstacle and are interested in pursuing post-
secondary study. An essay, transcript, and letter of
reference are required. Return the completed applica-
tion to Mrs. Zimmer by January 28.
The Alton C. Crews Scholars Program - $1,500 is
available to students who plan to enter the teaching
profession. If chosen, you will teach a minimum of
one year in the public schools of Georgia. An essay,
transcript, and letter of reference are required.

The Ronald McDonald U.S. Scholarship Program
is offering scholarships to students who are role
models in their communities, involved in school
activities, and have financial need. A GPA 2.7+
transcripts, teacher recommendation, and parental
income verification are also required. Apply online

The Princeton Prize in Race Relations sponsored
by Princeton University recognizes students who
have completed outstanding work in their school or
communities that is helping to improve race rela-
tions. You must have a supporter (someone to verify
your work) to complete part of your application.

The Better Business Bureau 2010 Student of
Integrity will offer six $1,000 scholarships. Criteria
includes, leadership, community service, academics,
and an essay. Application and details can be found

Columbus State University offers The Honors
Program for highly capable and motivated individu-
als who challenge themselves. You must apply to
CSU. This scholarships totals $13,200, including a
stripend for studying abroad. Minimum requirements
GPA 3.5, SAT 1200, ACT 27. Apply @ //hon-

KFC Colonel’s Scholars is looking for high school
seniors with financial need and an entrepreneurial
spirit. Awards are up to $20,000 for tuition, fees,
textbooks, room & board. Requirements are a GPA
2.75+, pursue a bachelor’s degree, U.S. citizen,
demonstrate financial need. Deadline: February 9
The National Commission for Cooperative Edu-
cation Scholarship Program offers155 Merit Schol-
arships to 7 partner colleges (see list of schools
online). You must be accepted and attend one of the
7 schools along with a GPA 3.5, and an essay.

The AXA Achievement Community Scholarship
offers $2,000 college scholarships for outstanding
achievement in activities in school, the community or
the workplace. For more information and both appli-

The J. Floyd and Eunice Brannan Scholarship is
$1,000 per year for four years as long as you main-
tain a “B” average in college. To apply, you must be
Hope eligible (3.0 cumulative GPA.), accepted to a
four year college, have community activities you
participated in, one recommendation, transcript and
an essay. Deadline: February 25
The Atlanta Toyota Scholarship is providing schol-
arships to every Gwinnett County high school for
students who pursue post-secondary education.
One student and one teacher from Mill Creek H.S.
will be selected by Atlanta Toyota. The student will
receive $1,500 and the teacher will receive $750.
This is an awesome scholarship! Requirements are
an essay along with two recommendations plus your
transcript. Return completed applications to Mrs.
Zimmer by February 25.
Area 3 Gwinnett Council PTA Scholarships are being
offered to MCHS seniors who are a PTA/PTSA member,
have been accepted or is awaiting acceptance to a two or
four year college/university in Georgia (must attend a Ga.
College) and have exhibited good character. A tran-
script, SAT/ACT scores, recommendations and applica-
tion are required. Deadline: February 28
More Opportunities Wesleyan College offers Wesleyan Scholars Awards in
various programs. The annual scholarship is valued at
$9,000 and is renewable each year. Contact Lisa Sloben

Bank of America is offering Juniors and Seniors an
opportunity to develop leadership skills through an 8-
week paid summer internship at a local non-profit agency
and attend a Student Leadership Summit in Washington,

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund has various scholar-
ship opportunities available for Hispanic students. To
see if you are eligible for any of the scholarships visit
their website at www.hsf.net. They also have a “High
School Student Support” (listed under Programs at top of
site) that will answer a lot of your questions about col-
lege. Deadline varies on each scholarship.
UNCF offers scholarship opportunities, visit
www.uncf.org/forstudents/scholarship.asp. Also,
blackexcel.org & blackstudents.org. College.gov
offers scholarships to those students who have overcame
challenges such as peer pressure, lack of family support,
and financial barriers. Mexican American Legal De-
fense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) offers many
scholarship opportunities @ www.maldef.org. Dead-
lines vary.
North Georgia College & State University If you are

Georgia Perimeter College offers “TAG” Transfer
Admission Guarantee with thirty-nine University System
of Georgia colleges and universities including UGA,
Georgia State University, Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State
University and others. GPC guarantees that students
who succeed in associate degree programs will continue
their education at a four-year college of their choice. In
order to use “TAG” you must maintain the required GPA
