Equipping Generations . . .
Church Family, 2015 is upon us. I am really looking forward to all that lay ahead. Worship Services, Bible Studies, Mission Trips, Outreach events, Inreach activities….so much is before us! I want to take this opportunity just to focus on three of them right now. Our 2015 Mission Trip to Macedonia will be June 3-12. As I have mentioned before, this will be the first of many trips during our long-term partnership with our IMB missionaries in Prilep. If you have any interest at all in participating, please make plans to be part of our Mission Trip meeting on January 11th. Johnny will be covering the youth trip and I will be covering this whole church trip and we will answer any questions you might have about them. Starting January 4th we will be undertaking a new sermon series that attempts to look at the big picture of God’s work with humanity through the Bible. We won’t be going verse by verse or even book by book, but rather saga by saga. We will be looking at the events and movements within the Bible and how they shape our understanding of God and His desires for us. We will be starting before time itself and going all the way through the book of Revelation sometime in May. I am really excited about this series and hope you are too – don’t miss it. During this year, like any year, we will be making some changes and implementing some new programs of ministry. Early in the year, we will use Sunday nights as a discipleship and evangelism training time and look at ways to carry that out. On Sunday mornings, in the second service, we will make a few changes as well. The one that will be most immediately evident is that we will not be doing the greeting time anymore. We will still have a welcome and prayer, we just won’t be doing the handshaking time. What this means is that you will have to make a concerted effort to make contact with visitors before and after the service. We want our welcome and friendliness to be organic and real. We believe as a staff that taking this step is one way to better accomplish this. For now, the greeting time will continue in the First service. Be praying about how God might use you in the coming year. Be ready to surrender as He leads. I am prayerful that this year will be our best one yet! Blessings,
Pastor Tim

Message from Johnny
Dear WHBC Family, Thank you for your generous support of the students and Student Ministry during the Candy Fundraiser! I am most proud of how hard the students worked to make the candy, package the candy and clean up afterwards too! The funds raised will help students attend next year’s Centrifuge Youth Camp at Glorieta, New Mexico. For tax purposes, should you wish to contribute to help our students make it to youth camp please contribute to the Youth Camp Fund before December 31. We are all very blessed by your generous support of our teenagers and our efforts to reach and disciple them for Jesus. On a personal note, thank you for all you have done to make me and my family feel at home at Woodland Heights. We are truly blessed to be a part of a fellowship and staff that deeply cares for each other. Merry Christmas! Until Christ is formed in Youth, Johnny Gonzales

HAVE A SEAT ON THE MOUNTAINSIDE.
Most of us have only encountered the Sermon on the Mount in fragments, considering its subdivisions as complete teachings in their own right. But what if we navigated these three chapters in Matthew as they were originally heard: one cohesive, well-ordered message, intended to challenge us to think differently about what it means to be a follower of Jesus, a citizen of the kingdom of heaven? Come and learn from Jesus, just as His disciples did.

Men’s Bible Study
The Resolution for Men Bible Study
This men's group curriculum was inspired by the document featured in the movie
COURAGEOUS. The Resolution contained 12 commitments related to
characteristics that all men of God want to pursue, such as responsibility,
faithfulness, honor, justice, forgiveness, integrity, and courage. The Bible study
walks participants through each of the 12 commitments, especially to their families,
and identifies the biblical roots and showing how to live out each godly principle in
real life. It's ideal for men's accountability groups.
