The programme is aimed at smallbusinesses, who are anxious to acquire theextra skills/knowledge to sustain anddevelop their business in these challenging

times. The content and intensity of theprogramme modules will be based on thetraining need requirements of theparticipating companies.

This Owner Manager DevelopmentProgramme combines 25 workshops and 2one-to-one confidential meetings.

National Ploughing Championships19th to 21st September 2017National Ploughing Championships are being held in Screggan, Tullamore, Co Offaly from 19thto 21st September 2017 where over 250,000 consumers will visit a 50 acre exhibition andtrade arena. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the quality and high standards ofgoods and services supported by the Local Enterprise Office.

As part of its National Programme the Local Enterprise Offices are hosting a Local EnterpriseVillage to provide an opportunity for clients to take full advantage of this unique consumerevent. Each Local Enterprise Office has 2 stands available for its clients.

Local Enterprise office Tipperary is now inviting any clients interested in availing of one of thestands at the show to contact Ita Horan, [email protected], Tel: 052 6129466 foran expression of interest form. Unfortunately places are extremely limited. National Enterprise Awards - All-County CompetitionThe County Enterprise Awards has been running since 1997 and celebrates theachievements and success of small local businesses in Tipperary. At County level, the Local Enterprise Office will award the winners with a cash prize fund ofbetween €2,000 and €5,000 in addition to commemorative trophies and certificates. Applications for county entry are available on line at www.localenterprise.ie/tipperaryClosing date for entry is Friday 10th February 2017 (eligible criteria applies)The County Winner will progress to the National Final which will take place in Dublin on 25thMay 2017 and carries a prize fund of up to €10,000.

Lean for Micro is designed to encourageclients to adopt Lean business principles intheir organisations to increasecompetitiveness.

The Lean programme involves a short in-company assignment by an external ‘Lean’consultant who will introduce Leanprinciples and complete a specific costreduction project.

The programme will commence with adiagnosis of current practice andperformance. Key performance indicators

will be established to achieve targetedbusiness improvement measures based ona set of Lean tools and methodologiestailored to suit each client’s situation.

Lean for Micro is available to LEO eligiblecompanies who employ up to 10 employeesin eligible LEO sectors who have thepotential to export / internationally trade.

Participating clients will be selectedsubject to eligibility as determined by LEOsand depending on the client’s existingcapability in using Lean business principles,the current size, and their particularbusiness development needs.

The programme is heavily subsidised by theLEOs and will cost each company €1,000.
