PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCEAsh Gear & Supply., NOVI, MI May 1999 – August 2016The world’s largest stocking distributor of gear tools.

Technical Sales EngineerCoordinated and performed technical engineering and sales tasks in order to meet a variety of manufacturing industry client needs, not limited to but including, broken and worn gear identification, cataloged/ non-cataloged product retention and blueprint interpretation to assign, locate and vendor viable tooling to clients based on specific production applications.

Evaluated and supplied tooling used in the production of a wide range of gear types as well as gear related inspection equipment such as measuring wires, master gears and plug (go/no-go) gauges.

Identified necessary machine parts required for usage of required tooling which allowed clients to utilize live tooling across various apparatus; i.e... adapters, spindles, pull heads, broaching horns, change gears, tapers and reducers.

Provide custom engineering and technical support regarding all existing and new products as cataloged for present and future distribution. Maintained and kept detailed knowledge of assigned customer base to insure client’s tooling and customer service expectations were

consistently met with the highest level of integrity, reliability and commitment keeping in line with companies standard and client retention goals.

Researched and analyzed client request to determine necessary modifications to stock tooling in order to suit application requirements. Engineered and relayed specifications to in house machinist used to perform necessary modifications on stock tooling. Interpreted verbal descriptions from clients as a guide to re-develop and identify viable tooling to be used in accordance with obsolete

equipment, nonexistent blueprints or drawings, outdated splines, gears and serrations. Performed necessary research of outdated industry standards used to design and develop updated gear designs enabling clients to adapt

with existing set ups and gear trains. Read and interpreted technical schematics to ensure clients suitability with industry requirements. Composed and provided tooling quotes and proposals (for in stock as well as custom built tooling) to be utilized by end user for acquiring

competitive tooling cost. Advanced knowledge in various industry gear cutting processes including, hobbing, shaping, broaching, bevel cutting, coniflex,

herringbone, shank shaping, milling, grinding and gear shaving. Assisted with set up and operation of trade shows. Provided training for new hires as needed in all areas, such as sales, order processing, warehouse design, catalog structuring, shipping,

sample identification and tooling specifications. High rate of success with international customer base requiring in-depth understanding of eclectic verbiage and methods of information

translation from a variety of languages and industry linguistics. Familiar with large and ever growing percentage of gear cutting industry standards and certifications (i.e. ANSI, DIN5480, DIN5482, SJ500,

ASA, etc...) Combined engineering knowledge with tooling manufacturers to design and produce special tooling for client needs. Dissected and offered solutions for field problems with clients in order to maintain current status of operation. Predicted clients potential future output and collaborated with purchasing departments in order to decrease manufacturing lead time and

delivery needed to maximize competitive stock products.
