SALIENT FEATURE OF JNNURM
JNNURM, the most ambitious urban program in thehistory of India
JNNURM is a Government of India initiative aiming at encouragingreforms and fast track planned developmentof identified cities.Focus is on efficiency in urban infrastructure and servicedelivery mechanisms, community participation andaccountability of ULBs/parastatal agencies towards Citizens
Total support from GOI is Rs. 50,000 cr. with matchingcontribution by cities/states over next six years (2006-12)Investment of around Rs. 1,50,000 cr. envisaged
