Helping the JCCA to set the standards of acceptable scientific publication that meet or exceed the world bio- medical standards are the individuals set out on the follow- ing pages and to whom both I and the profession owe a substantial and significant debt of gratitude. I simply want to acknowledge these dedicated individuals and thank them for their tremendous commitment to our research literature which over the years has positioned us in a very favourable light. The JCCA, you will see, relies on academics, research- ers, clinicians, and administrators and is transdisciplinary. There are epidemiologists, sociologists, psychologists, biostatisticians, orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists, chiro- practors, radiologists, and historians. In addition, the JCCA also relies on many external reviewers who are content experts such as Dr. Ed Owens at Sherman College, Dr. Stu McGill at the University of Waterloo, Dr. Carlo Ammendolia and Dr. Mark Erwin at the University of Toronto and many others who lend their expertise to ensur- ing our literature withstands the scrutiny of the scientific community. At the JCCA each eligible paper submitted for publica- tion is vetted in our peer review process and is typically reviewed by 5 reviewers in addition to the Editor.
