Similarly, MSS emphasizes a knowledge transfer approach in providing Services to all our JDE

Customers.

4.3 – Over the last four years, MSS has participated in the implementation and support of

numerous clients running the JD Edwards’ EnterpriseOne Application with a focus on the

Financial, HCM and Distribution Methodologies. Across all the following customer projects, there

are several lessons learned that apply to the JD Edwards’ EnterpriseOne work that we have done

including:

1) Knowledge Transfer cannot occur without participation from the Customer. It is critical to the

success of each project that customer participate to define requirements, to validate testing results and to train its end users. Without this level of participation, there is a higher risk related to the Projects being implemented.

2) Eliminate the temptation to customize the software by writing program code. JD Edwards is a highly configurable ERP system that can be made to support a variety of processes by setting switches/table values within the system. A customer should spend time exploring those types of configuration options before deciding to write custom code.

3) Take the time to create a good plan regarding data conversion. This work for new implementations can be done in parallel with the applications set-up, but it is critical to the success of the project to run an adequate number of tests to verify the conversion results.

Here is a summary listing of the JD Edwards projects that MSS is highlighting in this RFP

Response:

Apache Gold Casino – JDE World to E1 Migration (Finance, HCM and Purchasing) – MSS provided

project management along functional and technical consulting resources for a six-month project

that was focused on the implementation of a JDE Enterprise One Solution for Apache Gold Casino.

Due to the age of the JDE World application, the project was treated essentially as a re-

implementation to allow Apache Gold to optimally leverage the new capabilities in E1. After the

six-month project was completed, MSS has been serving in a CNC Managed Services support role

and has been providing additional JDE Training/Mentoring Services.

Hon-dah Casino and Resort (White Mountain Apache Tribe) – JDE E1 Implementation (Finance,

HCM and Purchasing) – MSS provided project management along functional and technical

consulting resources for a nine-month project that was focused on the implementation of a JDE

Enterprise One Solution for Hon-dah Casino and Resort. Hon-dah migrated its payroll systems

from ADP. Since go-live, MSS has been provided CNC support as well as additional project areas

such as ACA. Hon-dah is a current user of Insight Software.

QuikTrip (Tulsa, Oklahoma) – JDE E1 HCM Project – MSS provided JDE functional and technical

assistance to QuikTrip on an 18-month project to implement corporate wide HCM and Payroll. The

work involved the development of the HR and Payroll Business Processes prior to implementing the

JDE E1 HCM Solution. MSS functional area experts worked with QuikTrip to translate

requirements into JDE by leading the applications set-up process, providing training to the core

project team and in validating test results.

North Slope Borough (Alaska) – JDE World to E1 Migration – MSS is currently providing functional

and technical expertise to North Slope Borough as they transition from JDE World to JDE E1. In

addition to Finance and HCM modules, North Slope has a full Distribution System and as well as

Real Estate Management Modules. The process of moving to E1 (essentially a re-implementation)

is currently underway and is expected to be completed in Q2 2018.



City of Thornton (Colorado) – JDE Technical Services Support – MSS is providing JDE Technical

E1 CNC and Development Services Support for the City of Thornton. The City of Thornton runs

the JDE Core Financial Modules including GL, AP, AR and Budgeting. In addition, MSS provided

technical assistance in supporting the most recent JDE Upgrade for the City of Thornton.

Jill joined MSS with 10 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry as an

Information Systems Manager and Implementation Consultant. She was the

MIS manager for a large manufacturing company that assembled robotic

welding and mechanized cutting equipment and was responsible for the

integration between the financials and manufacturing. Jill’s efforts included

writing and supporting a payroll direct deposit system for her company,

coordinating and implementing a sophisticated bar-code system that helped

improve inventory accuracy to 99%.

David Carrier Financial Implementation Consultant

Professional Summary – 15 years of JDE Experience David has over 20 years of professional experience spanning oil & gas,

manufacturing, consulting, and public accounting. David spent his first 4 years

with MSS in the oil & gas industry providing long-term JDE user support. He

initially provided finance support for EnterpriseOne Xe and transitioned to 9.1

once the upgrade was complete. Since then he has worked on several

projects where he has developed an expertise with the User Defined Objects

(UDO) within JDE.

Prior to joining MSS, he worked in the beverage container business where he

held the position of Sr. Cost Accountant. He was part of the team that

implemented JDE in the final ten plants of an eighteen-plant project. His

involvement was with the training and implementation as it related to the plant

controllers. He also participated on one plant’s conversion from SAP to JDE

of four newly acquired plants.

After the implementation of JDE, David served as the main point of contact for

5-10 plants to include working with the plant controllers at month-end close as

both double-check/backup and to help troubleshoot issues arising during the

close process. He was also involved with the upgrade to JDE 9.0 as a first line

of support for the newly converted plants.

David spent 10 years as a consultant to the Federal government. He worked

on several ERP implementations for various agencies. This included two

Oracle implementations, one of SAP, and one of PeopleSoft. Other

responsibilities included requirements gathering, and development of

computer-based, web-based, and instructor-led training.

Prior to external consulting, David worked in public accounting earning his

CPA. David’s experience runs the range from tax to accounting and auditing.

His clients were primarily state and local governmental entities in the

Commonwealth of Kentucky. He also performed consulting duties on small

engagements. His broad experience includes financial audits, financial

reporting, software support, individual/partnership/corporate income and

property tax filings and SEC reporting.
