COLONIAL BANK NAMES SUMNER SENIOR BUSINESS LENDING OFFICER

LADY LAKE, Fla. – October 17, 2008 – Colonial Bank has recently named Jean Sumner

senior business lending officer for the Lake, Citrus, Sumter and Marion counties. She is

responsible for working as small business adviser to originate and develop new business for

Colonial Bank. Sumner also will build relationships with existing and potential customers, while

participating in community events within her markets.

Sumner has 24 years of banking experience and previously served as senior vice president,

business banking manager for another financial institution. She was responsible for managing the

commercial lending division, while having oversight of small business banking, the credit

analysis department, commercial lenders, regional and bank controllers.

Sumner earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and also is a Certified Public Accountant

(CPA). Active in the community, Sumner was named a Woman of Distinction by the YWCA.

She also is involved with the Chamber of Commerce, Professional Women’s Network, American

Heart Association and the United Cerebral Palsy board.
