Dr. Nikhil Mehta

Dr. Nikhil Mehta has finished his MBBS (Allopathic) education in

1991. Incidentally his friend advised him to undergo an introductory

course of Ayurveda in a same year, 1991.This was a one year course

(once weekly)at Tilak Vidypeeth, Pune. This course aroused a desire

in him for learning the Ayurveda in depth. While doing his job in a

medical college he kept on learning Ayurveda with different doctors

from Pune along with reading books on Ayurveda. He was also

experimenting the practical aspect with his patients during that time

1993-1996.

Fortunately he came across very senior doctor P. T. Joshi from Dhulia

who is a master in Panchakarma treatment and very noble and

humble teacher .He has taught Ayurveda to more than thousands of

students. Dr. Mehta stayed with him for six months learning Ayurveda and experiencing the effect of Ayurvedic medicine

and Panchakarma treatments on hundreds of his patients. He himself saw the fast and long lasting results on many

patients and was convinced about the science. Dr. Joshi made the wisdom of Ayurveda so simple and experiential for him

that he developed desire to apply this age-old science in his practice.

In 1998 he started his own clinic along with Dr. Gauri, a Ayurvedic doctor. In his clinic he used the basic principle of the

Ayurveda to cure the patients, suggesting lot of diet and lifestyle changes w ith minimal of medicines. He got the expected

results. But at the same time he noticed that the lack of knowledge of Ayurveda is a root cause of many diseases. The

patients out of ignorance do very simple mistakes again and again w hich ultimately leads to a development of some majo

illness.Intending to educate his patients with the basic knowledge of Ayurveda he started an introductory courseof 15

16hrs in which he teaches the basic principles of Ayurveda such as Panch-mahabhoot( five elements) theory, Tridosha

theory,Six taste theory, The concept of digestion, everything about Aahara-the food, The basic constitution-Prakruti, the

daily routine, the seasonal routine, the household remedies, the Panchakarma treatments & information about the

Vipassana meditation, a way to achieve a balanced and peaceful mind which plays a very important role in achieving

positive health.

This course gave good results. His patients started understanding how to keep their health balanced, how to achieve a

positive health. They started understanding that they themselves are responsible

for their own ill-health &their own understanding and awareness about

themselves will give them health.Now many of his patients are independent for

their day to day health. They need less and less of medical help. Most of the times

they can manage their routine health problems. Some of them has understood

Ayurveda so well that now they have started spreading the knowledge to others in

India and abroad. He is satisfied with the independence of his patients. But still lot

more to be done. There are so many controversies and misbeliefs in the field of

health which creates confusion in the mind of common man. He strongly beliefs

that the age old science of Ayurveda has a strength to clear these doubts. Rather

most of the new inventions coming from the modern science strengthen the

views of the science of Ayurveda. This has created a chance of new era of

cooperation between both these sciences in the futures for the wellbeing of the

society. Now it is a time that the modern doctors value the science of Ayurveda

and understands it.

He also emphasizes using the most important medicines mentioned by Ayurveda

and they are Ghee (clarified butter) and the Sesame oil. The modern science looks them as a villain, the culprits. But it

seems half-truth. He is getting astonishing results in many cases with the use of these two medicines. And fortunately

many new inventions are supporting this truth. His main intention is to make people wiser so they can take care of thei

own health with simple diet , lifestyle changes and household remedies, making people health independent..

Along with this preventive work he has successfully treated patients of Arthritis, joint pains, osteoporosis, muscular

stiffness and pains, Irritable bowel syndrome, colitis, gas troubles, migraines, hypertension, acidity, chronic fatigue

syndrome, w eight gain and loss issues, various skin problems, hair problems, indigestion issues, ear-nose- throat issues

chronic degenerative diseases and so many other problems. The interesting thing in Ayurveda is that you can come down

to a common root cause for multiple complaints, multiple symptoms and treating that root cause relieves many of ours

issues. So you may get treated for your arthritis, indigestion, headaches, weight loss, hair fall, skin dryness dandruff

insomnia, constipation simultaneously.

He advices people to learn Ayurveda and become master of their health.

Dr. Umagauri A. Bhagwat

Dr. Vaidya Umagauri A. Bhagwat has a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S) and has been

practicing Ayurveda for 19 years. During that time she has worked at private hospitals and also in her own private

practice.

She specializes in :-

Shodhan (Panch-karm)

Implemented preventive routines for asthma patients

Implemented medication for Kidney-stone patientsTreating Arthritic patients for better relief (with Panch-

karm)

Effectively used Rakt-mokshan in deserving cases using

Dr. Amol Dnyaneshwar Barsude

Dr. Amol completed his Diploma in Naturopathy and Yogic

Sciences (DNYS) in 2003 from C.S. Medical College, Pune. After

completing his course he came to meet Dr. Nikhil Mehta through a

friend and soon started working with him in his clinic. Even though he

was practitioner of Naturopathy he took a keen interest in the Science

of Ayurveda and started learning and practicing it in earnest, unde

the guidance of Dr. Nikhil Mehta. Soon he began to treat patients

using basic Ayurvedic principles and on minimal or no medication and

started seeing patients getting extremely decent results using these age

old techniques. He has since then decided to dedicate his life to practice

of Ayurveda.
