Jesus Calms a Storm (Mark 4:35-41)

After healing and teaching the crowd, Jesus and His friends set off on a fishing boat to go to the other side of the lake.

Suddenly, the wind blew hard and the waves began to splash. Soon, the storm became stronger and they were in the middle of a scary storm!

The sea water hit the ship and the ship shook wildly. The disciples were so scared because they thought the boat would turn over soon.

But Jesus was so tired that he was sleeping deeply inside the ship. Jesus' disciples eventually asked Jesus for help.

They woke Jesus up and cried out, "Jesus, help us! The ship is going to sink, how can you sleep? We could all drown!"

Jesus went out and stood on the boat. And he ordered the storm. 'Quiet! Stay still!' Then suddenly the wind stopped and the waves calmed down.

Jesus is all powerful, and so even the weather obeys Him! Jesus has this power because He is the Son of God.

This powerful Jesus is our Savior and friend! Whenever we are scared or worried, let’s remember to have faith because Jesus is always with us and protects us. He cares for us and will always help us.

The disciples were so surprised. Jesus asked his disciples, "Why are you so afraid?" Jesus said, "Don't be afraid. Have faith. I am always with you."

Jesus' friends asked each other. "Who is this man that winds and waves obey him?" Jesus and his disciples arrived safely across the lake
