RPT ON AN EM SURBRIGSTOCKE AND COLEMAN TOWNSHIPS
LARDER LAKE WININO DIVISION

located mainly in the northeastern portion of Brigstooke
Township. A few of the eastern claims are partially or
wholly in the southwestern portion of Coleman Township/
all being under the jurisdiction of the Larder Lake Mining
Division.
in the name of Thomas Hamilton of Madawaska, Ontario aro
held under option agreement by International Mine Services
Ltd., for Tashota Nipigon Mines Ltd. The remaining 34 claims
are held in trust by J.D.S. Bohme for Tashota Nipigon Mines
Ltd. The claims are numbered as follows i
L.60322 - 60323 ( 2) T. Hamilton optioned to Tashota Nipigon Mines L.242861-242888 (28) J.D.S. Bohme held for " " w L.247861-247866 ( 6) J.D.S. Bohme held for " " "
ACCESSIBILITY
The property is accessible from highway No. 11 by
a secondary road to the west from a point approximately two
miles south of Latchford. This secondary road leads to Anima
Nipissing Lake from which water transport north is required to
reach the claim block, a distance of approximately one and
one half mile.
effectively covers about one third of the property. To the
east and west of the lake the topography is typical undulating
Northern Ontario bushland with north trending ridges reaching
a maximum of two hundred feet above the lake level. Jackpine,
spruce, cedar and poplar trees cover the area, though few
good stands are present on the property.
LINF.CUTTING
A picket grid was cut over the claims during January-
February 1970 by M. J. Sullivan and helpers. Total miles cut
and chained totalled 31.8 miles. The lines are cut east-west,
off a central north south baseline. Line spacing is 40Q feet-
with pickets every 100 feet along all lines*
GENERAL GEOLOGY
arkoses and conglomerates of the Lorrain and Gowganda
formations and intruded by Nipissing Diabase sills and dikes
along the eastern portion and on some of the islands in the
lake. A small stock of granite is present in the southeast
portion of the property.
Disseminated copper mineralization occurs on an
island in Anima Nipissing lake on claim 60323 near the contact
of quartzite with diabase. A shallow shaft with some calcite
showing on the dump is present on claim 60322.

The electromagnetic survey was carried out in the
field from January 1.9 , 1970 to March 6, 1970 by Michael Braet
of Box 1052, Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, an employee of
International Mine Services Ltd., under the supervision of
the writer.
AND UNIT
A Ronka EM" 16 electromagnetic instrument was used
for the survey with all crosslines read at 100 ft. intervals.
The readings were recorded and plotted as to their in-phase
and quadrature components. The ty.L.F. - transmitting station
at Balboa^ Canal Zone was used as the primary horizontal field
in this survey. This station was chosen because of its
location approximately perpendicular to the direction of
survey .
the secondary field radiating from conductive structures in
the homogeneous horizontal primary field of the V.L.F. radio
station. The EM- 16 is simply a sensitive narrow band receiver
with inputs from two built-in coils. The signal from the
vertical coil is minimized first by tilting the equipment to
obtain a null. This tilt angle is calculated in percentages
and in the measurement of the vertical field's in-phase
component. The remaining signal is balanced out by an adjusted
quadrature signal from the other coil, (with axis normally
horizontal) . This signal is then the approximate measure of
the quadrature component of the vertical signal.

poor responses.
north south and north east - southwest under Anima Nipissing
Lake adjacent to the large island south of Crowrock Bay. I
believe these responses to be due to lake bottom sediments.
The .anomalous trend striking north from 165 to 8N
in the eastern portion of the property lies along the west
flank of a magnetic high and may indicate sulphide mineral
ization associated with a contact zone between diabase and
Huronian sediments*
Scattered anomalous readings in other parts of the
property may be due to low swampy ground effects. These areas
will be closely checked in the course of detailed geological
mapping of the property.

vertical component of the magnetic field and were taken along
lines spaced 400 feet apart with stations at 100 foot intervals
along the lines.
The property is only weakly magnetic for the most
part, A magnetic band varying between 100 and 200 feet wide
strike north south near the eastern boundary for a length of
roughly one mile. This appears to be a diabase dike. Similar
intensities over narrow widths and shorter lengths occur in
the south west portion of the property and appear to trend east
of north terminating on the large island near the centre of
the property. The cause of these variations are unknown.

The survey will serve as a useful guide to the
geological mapping planned for July of 1970 on the property.
Results of this survey are plotted on the accompany
ing map, scale l" - 200 ft., with contours at 50(1 gamma intervals,
