Jacksonville Marine AssociationMembership Meeting

President Dick Boger opened the meeting and welcomed the 26
membersattending.
Dick announced a new Supreme Court ruling that a house boat is
not a vesseland boats can be brought in to a marina and are not
required to pay fees asother boats. Monty stated that a lender will
not finance a house boat if you areliving on the boat.
o Dick welcomed Vicki Williams and reported that Crews N II
Marine is relocatingto Drs Lake.
o Dick reported to continue MIAF the fee is $825 per quarter. He
recommendedthat JMA continue support of the Cobia Tournament at the
Greater JacksonvilleKingfish Tournament in memory of John Lowe. He
also recommended that JMAprovide a breakfast for Hospice Camp Good
Hope project.
o Dick reviewed JMA accomplishments in 2012, see attached.
o Kenny and Mark gave overview of boat show. Attendance was down
overprevious year however boat dealers expressed good leads and
sales. Kennyrecognized Sam Hastings for helping with the moving of
boats and Buddy withthe quick assistance of handling a potential
fire on one of Larry Redmondsboats. The SMG staff was very helpful
this year and no problems wereencountered. The PA system was too
loud in some areas and not heard in theexhibitors area. A note has
been made to have the system checked prior to theshow opening next
year. Our sponsor 121 FCU was very pleased with theadvertising they
received and the overall boat show.
o Elections for the 2013-2014 JMA Board were held. Rusty Gardner
announcedthe following nominations from the nominating
committee.

o A nomination was made from the floor to nominate Buddy Haskell
as Presidentand Marcus Wade as a board member
o Mark Ziegler was elected as President
o A nomination was then made from the floor to nominate Buddy
Haskell as aboard member.

o Board members elected were:

Kenny Sherwood was appointed as Executive Vice President and
Kendall Taylorhas another year as Board Member.
o Jim Suber reported the 100 year celebration of the US Power
Squadron inJacksonville January/February 2014. They are planning a
boat parade with aMardi Gras theme to be held downtown. The power
squadron has over 1800members. A suggestion was made to coincide
with next years boat show.
o Cynthia Seagraves stated that she appreciated the support of
JMA and wouldlike to continue to be a member. She will be made an
honorary member.
o
Mark Zeigler motioned to adjourn and Kenny seconded.
