Year Three3_To Play _Theatre of Disguise

This undergraduate thesis project is a theatre of disguise within the city of Glasgow. It is a venue to host musicians that have performances involving lots of costume.

“All the world’s a stage”- Shakespeare

The deconstructed form of the building is connected to the city by sharing it’s height with the spire.

It is built within and upon a disused viaduct, with auxiliary spaces inside the arches. The top of the viaduct is a perfect stage on which the performance building is placed. There is an open air arcade over the public side to encourage people onto the site.

Inveraray, a small town within Scotland, was the site for this Roman Catholic church. The plan was designed for the alter to face East and has 12 coloured windows rep-resents the disciples. It’s the second tallest building in the town, creating a visual connection with the existing town bell tower.

This building was a gallery within the Grassmarket in Edin-burgh and was designed to provide a space for work to be exhibited as well as a viewing gallery to see the castle
