POSITION: INTERPRETER
Job opportunity in Abu Dhabi
• Assist International and limited English proficient patients, family members and caregivers by facilitating the communication process.
• Interprets dialogue from one language to another including patient histories, physician and patient interactions and nursing- patient dialogue often under stressful situations.
• Conducts interpreter services for pre and post- operative and emergency room patients.
• Models and promotes a culture of empathy, respect and “patient first” for all interpreter services activities.
• Interprets and ensures compliance with all appropriate codes and standards.
• Ensures patient safety, respect and cultural sensitivity.
• Formal training as an interpreter is required (must have demonstrated ability to interpret (spoken word) from English to Arabic and Arabic to English.
• Knowledge of interpretation/ translation best practices and technologies. • General understanding of all regulatory requirements related to the field of
interpreter and translation services. • Ability to work effectively and efficiently toward goals in a complex, diverse
environment with changing demands. • Strong interpersonal skills. • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Ability to speak and write in English is required. • Ability to speak and write in English and Arabic is preferred. • Health care industry experience is preferred.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma, or equivalent, is required. • Bachelor’s degree is preferred. • Certification as an interpreter is required- may be substituted by formal
training in language services.
