A youth jazz clinic honoring John Lewis, founder of the Modern Jazz Quartet, who also grew up and attended school in the South Broadway neighborhood.

As part of the 13th Annual New Mexico Jazz Festival and the 5th Annual John Lewis Celebration, young jazz students will participate in a day of coaching and workshops which will culminate in a short performance. All instruments (including voice) are welcome and students who have completed grade 7 and up to just-graduated high school seniors, will work with professional musicians in the community.
