District Governor’s Message
Lions, Leos and Lionesses,
“Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.”
“The Power of We”
These quotes from Helen Keller and President Dr. Naresh Aggarwal, respectively, speak volumes as to what we
can accomplish when we all work together toward a shared goal and share the same vision of service! For over 100 years we’ve given freely of our time and resources to address vision, hearing, diabetes, environmental, hunger and children’s needs.
As we begin a new Lions year, we will continue to focus on the satisfaction of our membership by continuing to hold programs that relate to the goals and mission of Lions Clubs International. By serving our respective communities in such a way, we’ll continue to build upon and create value, loyalty and satisfaction amongst our members. This positive culture in which member satisfaction and loyalty is high will directly impact the satisfaction of our respective communities. It is our goal that we ensure that our clubs efforts and attempts to assist are continually met with community satisfaction.
This community and member satisfaction carries another benefit. The awareness gained through our service will assist in promoting membership. There are many residents of our communities looking to serve. By actively promoting our efforts through social media and campaigns that create visibility we’ll continue to create opportunities to “Strengthen the Pride”.
Member satisfaction will begin at the Cabinet level. Beginning with our September meeting, and continuing throughout the year, we will use our meetings to educate and inform our clubs leaders. By helping our leaders become better informed about our service mission, youth programs and partnerships we’ll create a more educated foundation for our clubs to rely upon. I’ll share the specific focus of each meeting beforehand in our district monthly newsletter and with emails to our club presidents and secretaries. I invite all Lions interested in learning more about our programs to attend!
The impact that we as Lions have throughout the world with our service and humanitarian projects is tremendous! As District Governor, I’m truly excited by the opportunities that we all have as Lions to serve the communities of our District and I’m looking forward to working with our District team and all of our clubs and members!
We Serve!
Lion John McDonald, District Governor

4. The District Governor will be honored to induct
new members at the official visit. Please notify
in advance.
5. It is customary that the meal of the DG be paid
for by the club. It is optional that the meal of the

NOTES
________ Page 76
LIONS ETHICS
To show my faith in the worthiness of my vocation by
industrious application to the end that I may merit a
reputation for quality of service.
To seek success and to demand all fair remuneration
or profit as my just due, but to accept no profit or
success at the price of my own self-respect lost
because of unfair advantage taken or because of
questionable acts on my part.
To remember that in building up my business it is not
necessary to tear down another’s: to be loyal to my
clients or customers and true to myself.
Whenever a doubt arises as to the right or ethics of my
position or action towards my fellow men, to resolve
such doubt against myself.
To hold friendship as an end and not a means. To hold
that true fellowship exists not on account of the
service performed by one to another, but that true
friendship demands nothing but accepts service in the
spirit in which it is given.
Always to bear in mind my obligations as a citizen to
my nation, my state and my community, and to give
them my unswerving loyalty in word, act and deed. To
give them freely of my time, labor, and means.
To aid my fellow men by giving my sympathy to
those in distress, my aid to the weak, and my
substance to the needy.
To be careful with my criticism and liberal with my
praise; to build up and not destroy.
