PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCECalifornia Resources Corporation 8/2011- 9/2015Engineering Advisor Facilities – Team member on the Reservoir Management Team (RMT) for several on-shore locations in California ensuring surface facilities capacity is sufficient to receive production forecast. Facilities are used to process, heavy and light oil as well as gas only production.

DUTIES To evaluate existing facility capacities, recommend expansion to meet forecast

then develop preliminary scope & cost for the project. Supervise facility design to ensure all company & industry codes are met. Ensure P&IDs are accurate then conduct Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) to

ensure facility has sufficient migrating elements for safe operation. Design mechanical and controls per the P&IDs, ensure equipment specified per

process requirements & design package is sufficient (P&IDs, plot plan, electrical, mechanical, civil, equipment & equipment specs, cause & effect document, etc)

Manage construction team to ensure quality and specs are met & projects follows scheduled milestones & tracks projected cost.

Document changes in Management of Change program (MOC). Prepare training & instruction manuals for operations, conduct system checks &

final Process Safety System Review (PSSR) before handing over projects to Operations.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS Install equipment for H2S, BTU & moisture control to process gas for sale to

utility. Increase facility capacity from 1 to 4MMSCFD & eliminated facility shutdown because of off-spec gas.

Design & construction mobile facility to handle 10,000BFPD & 800MSCFD gas. Rehabilitate pipeline for transporting 3-phase fluid with accommodations to bleed

gas to reduce pumping head at wells.

Trained as accident investigator to develop root causes with effective corrective actions.

Chevron Global Manufacturing (Richmond Refinery) 3/2006-9/2010Design Engineer – Support maintenance of various plants in the refinery by responding to daily & capital needs as requested.

Daily support to prepare engineering work orders (EWO) per ASME, API, ANSI or company requirements containing revised P&IDs, sketches to explain the work, pipe specs & welding procedures, pre & post inspections as required for quality. While the work is done, visit job site to check progress, answer contractor question, check for safety and quality concerns and update stakeholders on work progress.

Involved in plant shutdown (SD) preparations: Working with a team made up of Ops, Maint & Inspections to define shutdown

scope. Based on data collected from past SD reports as well as maint history & inspection reports, create scope to enhance design to ensure reliability.

After scope freeze, start preparing work orders & get them approved by EWO due date. Spec out & purchase equipment then monitor equipment construction to ensure quality & schedule are met.

During SD, support maint crews & contractors by inspecting work during construction & after completion to make sure all work is done according to scope, revise EWO if changes needed.

ACCOMPLISHMENTSInvolve in $50MM turnaround for crude unit to ensure 4 year meantime between shutdown achieved.$45MM turnaround for FCC unit with same objective.

GWF Power Systems, Pittsburg, CA 2000-2006Project Engineer – Involved in process & safety improvement projects at 5 plants that burn petroleum coke in fluidized bed boilers to generate a total of 10MW or electrical power for sale to PG&E.

Completed the following projects: $4mil for secondary fuel feed system at 3 plants. System allowed plants to burn

delayed coke when fluid coke was unavailable. Preventing plant shutdown creating lost revenue and breach of contract.

$72K to replace cooling tower fill at 1 plant. Allowed plant to maintain max production during summer months additional 1MW of power generated.

Coordinated project to supply demineralizing filters for a simple cycle peaker plant.

Education:Successfully completed CA PE exam (Cert# M34355)Successfully completed CA EIT examUniversity of Texas at Arlington - Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
