A place to call homeJohn Wesley Gardens originally opened in Geebung in 1962 to provide aged care services to the local community. The new state of the art redevelopment will continue this legacy by building on Wesley Mission Queensland’s innovative approach to relationship-centred care.

John Wesley Gardens has been awarded EnviroDevelopment certification for its environmentally sustainable design. EnviroDevelopment is a scientifically-based assessment scheme that independently reviews development projects and awards certification to those that achieve outstanding performance across four or more of six elements including: Ecosystems, Waste, Energy, Materials, Water and Community. John Wesley Gardens has achieved outstanding performance across all six elements, making its six-leaf certification the highest rating achievable.

The development’s innovative design focuses on fostering a sense of community and independence. The central historical chapel, now known as The Sanctuary, built with the original community more than 50 years ago, still provides a calm, quiet space for reflection and worship. Residents can also enjoy all the on-site services including:

• outdoor entertaining spaces

John Wesley Gardens offers spacious single, double and superior suites complete with ensuites. All rooms are finished with quality fittings and fixtures and feature a refrigerator, air conditioning, a smart TV, Wi-Fi and phone connections and large picture-view windows (most with garden outlooks). Each suite has been designed with privacy, comfort and relaxation in mind and includes a bed and bedside table, built-in wardrobe, armchair, shelving and picture rails.

We want all residents to enjoy activities that are meaningful to them, and we endeavour to create an environment of variety and spontaneity where unexpected moments of joy can occur.

Ageing and moving into an aged care community can be daunting, but with us you know you are in good hands because just like you, we have years of experience too. When you become part of the Wesley Mission Queensland community, we will walk alongside you to help you find the meaning and joy in every day.

Moving to an aged care community doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your previous hobbies and activities or begin new ones. You may be in new surroundings, but we understand the importance of maintaining your existing connections with family and friends and remaining active and social.

Our dedicated events and volunteer coordinator will work alongside carers to provide opportunities for meaningful activities while supporting you to be involved in activities of your choice, regardless of your physical abilities.

John Wesley Gardens is conveniently located close to many community amenities in Geebung including a supermarket, cafe, Seventh Brigade and Marchant parks, Westfield Chermside, and public transport.

All residents have convenient and timely access to services such as podiatry, physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy and speech pathology through Wesley Mission Queensland’s own specialised aged care health professionals. This streamlined approach to care allows specialists to easily and confidentially communicate with nursing staff and tailor support to the individual needs of all residents.
