to pre-clinical studies to treat diseases

that cause vision loss and blindness in

millions of people and animals each year.

When his contributions to research were

complete, Homes for Animal Heroes provided

all the care Luke needed and found him a

permanent family In a home filled with

children and other pets.

animals involved in biomedical research, but they have contributed

to many of the treatments, cures, vaccines, and diagnostic and sur-

gical procedures available today? The discovery of insulin

for diabetes? Treatments for cancer? Heart valve and artery

replacements? Knee and hip prosthetics? Thank our canine heroes!
