Vocational College for Catering and Tourism Maribor is situated in the second largest Slovene city Mari-bor with a colourful wine tradition. It is also the town with the oldest vine in the world (450 years old). Therefore VCCT Maribor and BELVIN Wine School are keen to host this exciting seminar where the partici-pants will be able to achieve the internationally approved certificates of WSET®.
WHAT IS WSET®?
WSET works through a network of Approved Programme Providers around the world. The trust works with an extensive network of over 400 third-party teaching and examination centres, known as Approved Programme Providers, in over 50 countries around the world who offer one or more of their qualifica-tions. These external Providers are rigorously checked to ensure that they deliver the high standard of teaching required to enable students to pass their WSET qualification.
HOW WILL YOU BENEFIT FROM THE SEMINAR?
This year VCCT Maribor will organize The WSET® Level 1 Award in Wines and The WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits.
The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) http://www.wsetglobal.com/ was founded in 1969 to provide high quality education and training in wines and spirits. Since then, WSET has grown into the foremost international body in the field of wines and spirits education.
This qualification is popular with wine and spirit employees and will give participants excellent all-round product knowledge. The course is also suitable for the interested consumer.
VOCATIONAL COLLEGE FOR CATERING AND TOURISM MARIBOR
The WSET® Level 1 Award in WinesThis qualification provides a basic introduction to the main styles of wines available to front-line staff involved in the service or sale of wine. The qualification aims to provide the basic product knowledge and skills in the storage and service of wines required to prepare a person for their first job in wine hospitality or retail.
The Old Vine Festival in Maribor is the main event in the cycle of events From Vine to Wine, from pruning to St Martin’s Day celebrations, which we prepare in the honour of the Old Vine, the oldest vine in the world. The Old Vine is Maribor’s greatest ethnographic sight, which symbolises the rich wine culture of Maribor and Štajerska region.
Robert Gorjak, a lecturer with international experiences is going to offer up-to-date and competent knowledge.
Once you obtain the The WSET® Level 1 Award in Wines or The WSET® Level 2 Awards in Wines and Spirits you can apply to use the certified logo.

The WSET® Level 1 Award in Wines- The main styles of wine- The WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine- The characteristics of the common grape varieties used to produce wine- Service of wine- Health, safety and legal issues- The pairing of food and wine

PRICEThe seminar price for a double room: 350 EUR/person, price for a single room: 370 EUR/person. The price does not cover only the course but also several other activities, including the stay and meals.
NOTE: The price does not include travel costs to Maribor and back.
