Unique façades for the buildings of the future

Gartner façades set the standard for high-quality, economical and sustainable construction. These high-tech façades can heat, cool and ventilate buildings. This saves both energy and operat-ing costs, and increases the comfort of the user.

As a façade specialist, Gartner offers both unique and industrial-ly produced solutions. Free and complex forms that stand on the limits of technical feasibility are designed in aluminium, steel and glass. The aim always remains the same: to help architects and builders realise their ambitious ideas.

Tradition and innovation

Gartner was founded in 1868, and has been part of the Per-masteelisa Group since 2001. Today, with its headquarters in Gundelfingen/Donau, the company is a world leader in façade construction. Global projects are handled by over 1,500 members of staff. The most important branches and subsidiaries are located in Great Britain, Switzerland, the USA, Russia and Hong Kong.

Gartner has developed key technologies for the world of façade construction. These include a double skin façade for the natural ventilation of high-rise buildings. An inte-grated façade for heating and cooling was invented back in the 1960s, and has been fur-ther developed since then through patents registered across the globe.

Gartner developed the Closed Cavity Façade (CCF) – a closed double skin and very energy-saving façade – for series pro-duction on a building owned by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. By 2016, over 150,000 m² of Closed Cavity Façades have been developed, manufactured and installed in close co-oper-ation with clients within a peri-od of less than eight years.

The company's own test site – which boasts approx. 6,000 m² of outdoor space and eight test rigs – allows Gartner to subject façade constructions to all of the key tests on site, and to carry out important research and development work.

The face of cities

Gartner façades shape the face of many skyscrapers and the skylines of large cities across the world. From Taipei 101 in Taiwan – once the tallest build-ing in the world – to the Com-merzbank skyscraper in Frank-furt, to the Evolution Tower in Moscow. Gartner façades make skyscrapers more secure and more comfortable.

But first-rate architecture is not limited to façades on skyscrap-ers: Gartner used a vast range of materials to create the façade on the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Meanwhile, a complex façade made from glass and steel was designed for the Musée des Confluences in Lyon.

Gartner produces technically sophisticated façades for each property and installs them on schedule on building sites across the globe.

Creating spaces

Interiors & Contract is a busi-ness division at Gartner: It spe-cialises in planning, supplying and installing interior construc-tion and design projects. This encompasses the entire project – from the design stage to the successful conclusion of the project. Here, the company uti-lises its wealth of experience in the field of project and con-struction management.

The portfolio includes designer shops, lobbies, public spaces, special architectural glazing, metalwork, museums, health institutions and high-end apart-ments.
