Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat – Youth Ensemble Audition April 23 & 25 @ the Amphitheater in Bardstown, KY

- Audition song supplied by Stephen Foster Drama Office - Comfortable clothes and shoes - The child who is auditioning should memorize the song that is provided and show up ready to have fun

AUDITION PROCESS

Boys and Girls ages 6-15 auditioning for Youth Ensemble will sing the provided selection from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Small groups will sing together and then each child will sing individually. Song should be memorized. However, if your child feels more comfortable holding their music, they may.

The length of the audition will depend on the number of children who attend. You should prepare to be there for the duration of your time slot.

IF SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SHOW:

§ We plan to have a large youth ensemble; however, it is possible that not everyone who auditions will be cast. The process of auditioning is a valuable experience and we are so glad you decided to audition for us.

§ If selected to participate in the show, each participant will be required to pay a $25 participation fee. Participants will also be required to provide appropriate footwear and shorts/pants.

§ This is a volunteer children’s ensemble. If selected to be in the show, your child will have the opportunity of learning from theatre and music professionals and performing in front of thousands of people from all around the world.

§ Absences are strongly discouraged. If an absence is unavoidable, it must be requested and approved prior to the first rehearsal.

§ PARENT & CHILD PASSES will be available for purchase at $75-adult, $35-child. PARENT PASSES are non-transferrable and allow unlimited admittance to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and The Stephen Foster Story.

*Limit two Parent Passes and one Child Pass per family.

TENTATIVE JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT SCHEDULE

- Rehearsals: Daytime rehearsals will be scheduled at various times during the

rehearsal period. We will do our best to be considerate of parents’ work schedules, but you should arrange for “back up” transportation in case a rehearsal conflicts with your work schedule. Prior to opening the show, we will have 2 late night rehearsals that will begin at 11PM(Following The Stephen Foster Story) and will last until approximately 1:30AM. This is necessary so that we can run the show with lighting. There will be rehearsal on July 4.

- Music and Staging rehearsals will be scheduled mid MAY through early JULY

- There will be no rehearsals from May 24 – June 9

- Joseph will run Thursday and Saturdays July 6 – Aug. 8

- A detailed rehearsal schedule will be provided at a later time.
