St. Paul’s Catholic College Unit G324: Advanced Portfolio in Media Locations 1. Shots From Peregrine Road/Falcon Way 2. Shots From Residential Alleyways In Peregrine Road The Shots From Peregrine Road and Falcon Way are establishing shots that help to generate a sense of location and being introduced to the area. These will be used at the start of the trailer. The shots may include some of the residents walking/driving around in the background, helping to create the feel of a living/thriving community. It’ll also be one of the first key signifiers to it being a working class area and give people watching a first assumption on the types of people who will inhabit the community. The Longshots in the alleyways helps to create the gritty urban vibe of being in a working class area. Which despite being very built up can feel lonely and isolated. This will be used and feature early on within our trailer as it helps to present the image we are looking for. The alleyways also display the sense of it being a built up urban location as small paths run in and out between the homes of people who live around there.

Locations    1. Shots  From  Peregrine  Road/Falcon  Way

 2. Shots  From  Residential  Alleyways  In  Peregrine  Road

The  Shots  From  Peregrine  Road  and  Falcon  Way  are  establishing  shots  that  help  to  generate  a  sense  of  location  and  being  introduced  to  the  area.

The  Long-‐shots  in  the  alleyways  helps  to  create  the  gritty  urban  vibe  of  being  in  a  working  class  area.

3.  Shots  From  The  Shops/Apartments  In  Peregrine  Road

This  part  of  the  location  is  the  main  area  that  would  be  used  for  filming  the  trailer.  It  is  of  best  fit  for  the  trailer  as  it  creates  the  best  depiction  of  the  area  we  are  trying  to  create  and  generate.  Things  like  apartments  shops  and  staircases  help  to  create  a  full  sense  of  the  area  being  truly  built  up.  Other  factors  of  the  area  that  have  helped  it  be  used  for  the  main  part  of  our  trailer  is  the  things  such  as  low  rise  flat  buildings  and  apartments  surrounding  the  location  helping  to  create  the  belief  to  the  audience  that  life  in  this  area  revolves  around  the  center  of  this  built  up  area.  Other  factors  such  as  broken  windows,  Graffiti,  metal  shutters  and  boarding  up  make  it  seem  gritty  and  urban.  The  overall  vibe  of  the  area  has  helped  contribute  to  the  dubbing  of  the  soap  as  Byrd’s  Lane,  a  raw,  urban  orientated  name.  The  location  is  also  good  as  it  has  many  points  of  interest  in  the  trailer  that  when  featured  could  be  used  to  generate  further  points  of  interest  and  parts  of  the  area  that  would  feature  more  commonly  in  the  actual  series.
