Initially was a terminal emulator
Created to be a light and fast OS
Originally planned to name it Freax
Since it was a hobby, he charged nothing to download the OS
Began community based

Why is Linux so difficult to use?
For personal computers
Aimed for a wider base of users instead of development goals
Meant to multi-task and do many things at one time
Many different versions to choose from
Unlike Windows, Linux gives you full control of what the computer is doing
