Grammar – Independent Clause
Clause = a group of related words which has both a subject and a predicate.
Independent Clause = a complete thought and can stand as a sentence.
Practice: circle the independent clause in the sentence.
1. In 1885, the Pittsburgh Dispatch hired her after she wrote an eloquent letter to the newspaper.
2. Jo bought a house that was built in 1930.
3. Although yesterday was rainy, today is sunny.
