A new tiger beetles species, Cylindera (Ifasina) ilonae sp. nov. is described from northern Vietnam (Tuyên Quangprovince: Na Hang district). This new species is readily distinguished from the closely related species Cylindera(Ifasina) lesnei Babault, 1923, C. (I.) decolorata (W. Horn, 1907) and C. (I.) psilica (Bates, 1866) by the largersize, shape and colour of the labrum and pronotum, elytral coloration and maculations, as well as size andshape of the aedeagus. The identification key to the species of subgenus Ifasina of Vietnam is given.© 2015 Korean Society of Applied Entomology, Taiwan Entomological Society and Malaysian Plant Protection

Introduction
Based on three female specimens from an unspecified locality inTonkin (former French protectorate including the northern part ofVietnam, southern parts of thepresent dayChinese provinces of Yunnanand Guangxi as well as the northeastern part of present day Laos),Babault (1923) described a beautiful species of tiger beetle, Cicindelalesnei. Later Rivalier (1961) placed this species within the genusCylindera Westwood, 1831 and subgenus Ifasina Jeannel, 1946. At thepresent time this species is known from northern Vietnam (Wiesner,1992) and the Chinese province of Guangdong (Li and Chen, 1993;Li-Zhong, 2002), and Cassola (2004) erroneously indicated it asVietnamese endemic. From other species within the subgenus Ifasina,C. lesnei is distinguished by the bright metallic blue-copper-golden-green T-shaped area on the basal and sutural portions of elytra(Babault, 1923: fig. 1; Horn, 1938: Tab. 51, fig. 2).
In 1996 the Latvian entomologists Alexander Napolov and IlonaRoma collected a series of C. lesnei (29 males and 36 females) in theenvirons of Na Hang (northern Vietnam). Among them, however, wasa single male of similar colour but represented an unknown species ofCylindera (Ifasina). Based on this specimen the new species is describedbelow.

Material and methods
The holotype of this new species is in the collection of the ZoologicalInstitute of Russian Academy of Science, St.-Petersburg (ZISP).
Measurements were taken as follows: total body length (withoutlabrum) — from anterior margin of clypeus to apex of elytra; length oflabrum (without apical tooth) — from anterior margin of clypeus toanterior margin of labrum; length of pronotum— alongmidline; lengthof elytra (without sutural spines) — from shoulders to apex of suturalangle; width of labrum, pronotum and elytra— in their broadest points.
Taxonomy

Type material. Holotype (♂): Vietnam N, (Na Hang), 160 km NNWHaNoi, NE env. of Na Hang, h ~ 150–200m, 2–9.VI.1996, leg. A. Napolov(ZISP).
Etymology. A new species is named in the honour of the Latvianentomologist, Ilona Roma, who collected some interesting species ofCicindelinae in Vietnam together with her husband — a famousLatvian entomologist Alexander Napolov.

front edge, the second far beyond the middle. Labrum dark brown, short, transversal, 2.88 times as wide as long, unidentate, with ninesubmarginal setae (four in the left, five in the right), without basaldimples, but with small rounded impressions in the base of widepoorly marked central carina (Fig. 4). Mandibles deep brown withslight greenish tinge, pale in basal half. Labial and maxillary palpipale, except last joint metallic dark brown with greenish reflections.Antennae slender, projected posteriorally more than half the lengthof the elytra; scape and pedicel green with deep violet reflections ba-sally, a single long seta on tip of scape; antennomeres 3 and 4 metal-lic green, with deep violet reflections apically and basally, 1–2 shortspiniform setae, except apical ones; joints 5–11 dull black, fully andevenly covered by short brownish pubescence.
Pronotum indistinct longitudinally, 1.1 times as long aswide, clearlyrounded at sides, with maximal width near the middle and lateralmargins with a single row of sparse decumbent setae; pronotal discfinely wrinkled, metallic bluish-green with purple-bronze reflections, with V-shaped violet spot around bright green midline and small violetoblong dot near each lateral margins; apical transversal groove verydeep laterally, shallow and indistinct in the central part, basal transver-sal groove deep throughout (Fig. 6). Proepisternum metallic violet,bluish-green basally, with short sparse white semi-erect hairsalong hind sulcus. Thoracic sternites metallic bluish-green, pro- andmesosternum glabrous, metathorax with golden-purple shine, coveredby white decumbent hairs. Female unknown.
Distribution. Cylindera (Ifasina) ilonae sp. nov. is known only fromthe type locality (Na Hang district) in the Vietnamese province TuyênQuang.
Ecology. According to the personal report of Mr. Alexander NapolovCylindera (Ifasina) ilonae sp. nov. was collected together with Cylindera(Ifasina) lesnei (Babault, 1923) in the leaf forest along the narrowlight path.
Differential diagnosis. Cylindera (Ifasina) ilonae sp. nov. is similar toCylindera (Ifasina) lesnei (Babault, 1923), but easily distinguished by thelarger size— 10.4 mm in male of C. (I.) ilonae sp. nov. vs. 6.6–8.0 mm inmales and 7.3–8.5mm in females of C. (I.) lesnei (Figs. 1–3);more trans-versal labrum — 2.88 times as wide as long in male of C. (I.) ilonae sp.nov. vs. 2.40–2.66 times in males and 2.50–2.57 times in females of C.(I.) lesnei (Fig. 15); colour of labrum and mandibles (Figs. 4–5); shapeand colour of pronotum (Figs. 6–7); colouration and white pattern ofelytra, firstly by bright metallic portion (Figs. 8–12); size and shape ofaedeagus — larger, with relatively long evenly tapering to the roundedtop lamella in C. (I.) ilonae sp. nov. vs. smaller, with short spiniform
lamella in C. (I.) lesnei; as well as details of internal sac (Figs. 13–14).From the similar Cylindera (Ifasina) decolorata (W. Horn, 1907) thenew species differs in the bright metallic tinged area on the elytralsurface (see Horn, 1938: Tab. 51, fig. 1, and Shook and Wu, 2007: 43);from Cylindera (Ifasina) psilica (Bates, 1866) the new species additionallydiffers in the lack of the basal portion of apical lunule (see Horn, 1938:Tab. 50, fig. 28).
