hipping technology has been one of the major

factors that keep the world economy afloat. SThe technology revolution has helped the

industry take huge leaps forward. It is of utmost

importance, and an absolute necessity that engineers,

technicians and business heads associated with the

shipping industry met periodically and exchange their

ideas.

It is with this understanding that ShipTek conferences

are conceived, planned and organized by Marine

BizTV and Aries Marine every year. The venue for

ShipTek 2008, the first of the series, was none other

than Cochin, the Queen of Arabian Sea. Encouraged

by the success of that event, ShipTek 2009 was

organized with a wider network of global participants at

the exotic Southeast Asian country, Singapore. The

event evoked huge interest and enthusiasm among

the key global players in the industry, despite the world

economy being in the grip of a deep recession.

It is only appropriate on our part that we selected
