Trainings organized by the Institution of Engineers,Malaysia
Two trainings, “Using PRO/II software for process simulation” and “Introduction to HAZOP,” which were organized by The
Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM), were held on 21 and 22 January 2017 at Taylor’s School of Engineering. The trainers for
the first and second sessions were Mr. Keng Phisitphol Tungtharawiwat from Schneider Electric, and Ir. Razmahwata bin Mohd
Razalli, who came from IEM, respectively. These trainings aimed to prepare the students for the 5th IEM Chemical Engineering
Design Competition 2016/2017. A total of 17 students and 6 lecturers benefited from the trainings. These trainings guided
students on how to use PRO/II software to simulate their designed chemical process. In addition, the trainer elaborated on
HAZOP analysis, which is needed to be applied in students projects for submission to the competition.
