Investiture Ceremony
The nail – biting elections are over. The new leaders have been chosen. Now what? It is time for
one of the most awaited moments of the year – The Investiture Ceremony. This is when the leaders
are formally entrusted with their duties. This year’s Investiture was indeed a grand and
extravagant affair. We were honoured to have with us Commodore Vijesh K Garg VSM, a naval
officer with over 1300 combat experiences. He spoke about leaders and leadership, laying
emphasis on the school’s role in fostering lifelong skills of responsibility, commitment and
dedication. The Principal also congratulated the office bearers and wished them a good and
successful year ahead.
- Rithvik Senthil, Grade X

passion we have into our work.

more. The chief guests, Mr. Ashok Selvan and Ms. Sakshi Agarwal, along with the Principal,
inaugurated the grand ceremony, which was also enlivened by fusion music and dance
performances by our very own students.
A live DJ and the many food courts added spark to the event. The students showcased their
multifarious talents to bag the trophies, certificates and vouchers. Cycles as prizes were given
away to participants who won the Winners Event. The overall championship was awarded to

Colours of Life
The students of Art Elective from grades X to XII and the CE students of grade VIII visited the
Korean Floral Art exhibition at InKo centre and the Art Houz Gallery.
Catch the Falling Stars
Children were transported to space during their visit to the Birla Planetarium. The planets,
stars, black holes, galaxies, space showers and meteorites gave them a hands on learning
experience. They were thrilled and excited to watch a 3D show, understand that ice rocks
were floating around Saturn and the earth is made up of gases.
Little Moments - Big Memories
At the Adyar Poonga, we saw herbs, shrubs, climbers, creepers and trees. We also saw fish, terrapin
and tortoise. We were excited to hold a terrapin and a tortoise. We saw a clipping on keeping the
earth clean. We saw so many flowers like lily, lotus, aloe vera, rose and hibiscus. We saw a honey
bee busily taking honey from the flower, going buzz buzz..... After that we played hide and seek with
our Acharyas and friends. We saw a fish jumping all around the water. We enjoyed the field trip.
Thank you Acharyas!

The students of the Primary were made to
understand that bullying in any form is
wrong. The students presented plays and

delivering a speech to convey the message.

Food Wastage
Do you know that a huge amount of food is wasted
everyday and a billion people don’t get even a single
meal a day? These are some of the facts we learnt while
working on our assembly on Food Wastage. Our class
wanted other children to realise how much effort goes
behind a farmer’s work. He sows seeds, grows fresh
crops and finally harvests before our parents can put
our favourite meal on the plate. We sang prayers on
food and performed skits and showed ppts on food
wastage. It was a learning experience which taught us
to respect food.
- Kanika Sriram, for Grade V Mullai
Respect for ourselves guides our morals, respect
for others guides our manners. If you want to be
respected by others, the great thing is to respect
yourself. Our topic for the assembly ‘RESPECT’
gave us an opportunity to showcase our talent by
presenting plays, singing songs and delivering
speeches on respecting our country, school and
family.
- Students of Grade V Thamarai

Student’s Corner
Flower! Flower! Flower!
You are beautiful
And you make the garden full,
I need you in front of me
When I have a cup of tea,
Whenever I feel bored
I go and open the door,
When I see you five growing in a row
One of you say,
I am yellow, do you know?
Then out comes the sun big and bright
And all of you smile with delight!

Celebrating Justice
On the 17th of July, 1999, an international treaty, with the sole aim of establishing order and providing
justice to all the elements of society, was brought into force. This treaty, known as the ‘Rome Statute’,
was instrumental in the creation of the International Criminal Court. And thus, considering the
immense assistance that the ICC has given to the world in its war against crime, it was decided that
this day would be observed as the World Day for International Justice.
Justice is based on the fact that every human is born with rights and corresponding duties to fellow
humans, the Government and the nation. It must be provided equally to all those who are deserving,
without any bias or discrimination. The Lady of Justice, a prominent figure in all the scriptures and
carvings of all the empires and civilizations of the world, is an embodiment or a personification of the
novel idea of justice, the blindfolded eyes representing impartiality, the scales representing equality
and the sword representing authority.
Justice acts as a lamp and is the reason for the world to progress and achieve. The reason for the very
existence of mankind is this egalitarian concept. Thus, we must learn to respect that harbinger of
happiness and peace.
- Vishva Shanmugam M V, Grade XII
PROTECT THE TIGERS
Once or twice
I used my eyes,
to spot a tiger.
My eyes opened wider.
Unfortunately,
I looked around sadly,
None to be found,
Not even a sound.
All because of those hunters,
Some useless poachers
So please stop them,
Stop them now,
Just make a vow.
To save the tigers,
from those marauders.
- Ahalya Chandrashekar, Grade IV
International Tigers Day
The tiger is the largest of the world’s big cats with its distinctive orange and black stripes and
beautifully marked face. The Tiger was chosen as the National Animal of India by the Indian Board
of Wildlife in 1972, as it symbolizes power, strength, elegance, alertness, intelligence and
endurance. Tigers are found in nearly 16 states except for the north-western region, inhabiting dry
open jungles, humid ever-green forests and mangrove swamps. The ‘Project Tiger’ program,
flagged by the Government of India, is a massive effort to preserve the tiger population, which is on
the brink of extinction. Many tiger reserves have been set up to protect them from habitat loss,
hunting, poaching and climate change.
Global Tiger Day, observed on 29th July, attempts to raise awareness regarding tiger conservation.
It aims to promote a global system for protecting the natural habitats of tigers and to raise public
sensitivity and support for tiger conservation issues.
- Ihita Krishnan, Grade IV
Facts on Tigers
Tigers are single hunters
No 2 tigers have the same stripes
Their roar can be heard 3 km away
Average tiger weighs 270 kg
It can run at a speed of 65 km/hr
- Shraddha Padmanabhan , Grade IV

Saluting the Doctors!
Life giver – a term associated with God.
Something that a true doctor does every single day.
Be it the MBBS at the clinic,
Or the tireless doctor in the war,
The physician of the athlete,
Or your home-remedy grandmother,
They all do it, in their little way.
It is not the sterile white coat that makes a doctor.
Not the squiggly handwritings, or the unpronounceable medicines.
Not the hi-fi equipment, or the grand titles, but
The ability to give a patient warmth and comfort,
The ability to help the patient rise above the illness and remain happy,
The ability to give hope, faith and belief where it may no longer exist,
The ability to give the ailing a new beginning,
The ability to keep the patient alive, not living.
Let’s celebrate these wonderful men and women, on this World Doctor’s Day.
