1 Procedure for Equipment Specific JRC ECDIS training

1.1 The Objective

The objective of this distance course is to give the Trainee equipment specific training for the JRC JAN-701B ECDIS, JAN-901B, JAN-2000 ECDIS, and JAN-901M/701 ECDIS. Upon completion a course diploma for equipment specific training on JRC JAN-701B ECDIS, JAN-901B, JAN-2000 ECDIS, and JAN-901M/701 ECDIS. will be issued. This is not a generic ECDIS course. Those who need a generic ECDIS course according to STCW requirements and IMO model course 1.27 must complete such course in addition to this course.

1.2 Pre requisites

Candidates must have a valid ECDIS generic training course in accordance with IMO Model course 1.27

1.3 Activities to be done

Complete the Seagull CBT module # 4014 JRC ECDIS, achieving at least 95% completion and a test score of at least 75%.

1.4 Materials to be used

Seagull CBT module # 4014 JRC ECDIS Procedure for JRC ECDIS Familiarization

1.5 Completion of Training

The training procedure has been completed when: - All prescribed activities has been performed and; - The Master or Assessor onboard or office Assessor has verified the result of each and every

training activity and sign all documents. - Printouts from the completed CBT are sent to Seagull AS for verification.

Each individual seeking certification must complete CBT tests individually. NOTE!!!! CBT test results must not be older than 12 months. Incomplete documentation/not passing evaluation will be shredded and a complete new set must be sent.

1.6 Questions regarding the Equipment specific JRC ECDIS training

Questions regarding the training can be sent by email to [email protected] The subject in the e-mail must be, “Equipment Specific JRC ECDIS training”.

1.7 The following shall be sent to Seagull AS:

Candidate detail page completed with full name, date of birth, address and nationality, ship’s name, invoicing address etc.

Copy of ID of person who is signing the checklist (Master or Assessor).

One-page copy from the candidate’s discharge book, passport or similar confirming the full name, date of birth and nationality.

Copy of detailed CBT report from the CBT module # 4014

Copy of certificate for generic ECDIS course, in accordance with IMO model course 1.27

All documents signed and verified by Master or Assessor and marked with ship’s/office stamp.

JRC ECDIS verification checklist read and signed by master/assessor.

JRC ECDIS documentation checklist completed and signed by candidate. Upon receipt of all fully completed documentation as outlined in the Checklist 1.8, Seagull AS (SG) will issue a Course Diploma and send this to the company. All documentation must be signed and verified by Master or Assessor onboard or office Assessor and marked with the ship’s/office’s stamp. The documentation must be sent to Seagull. Para 1.8 shall be the first page of the shipment. Please send the documentation as one pdf attachment to the following email: [email protected] The subject in the email must be, (Equipment Specific JRC ECDIS training –“candidate name”).

1.8 Documentation Checklist for Equipment Specific JRC ECDIS training

The following documents, duly completed, must be submitted to Seagull AS for evaluation and approval before Seagull AS can issue an Equipment Specific JRC ECDIS training – Course Diploma. Candidate detail page completed confirming candidate’s full name, date of birth, address and nationality, ship’s name, invoicing address etc. Copy of ID of person who is signing the checklist (Master* or Assessor).

Copy of candidate’s passport or discharge book confirming the full name and date of birth. Copy of certificate for generic ECDIS course, in accordance with IMO model course 1.27

Copy of detailed CBT report from CBT # 4014 JRC ECDIS familiarization training – verification checklist read and signed by Master/Assessor.

Equipment Specific JRC ECDIS training – documentation checklist completed and signed by candidate. All documents signed and verified by Master* or Assessor onboard or office Assessor and marked with ship’s/office stamp. I hereby declare that this is my own work and effort and that all is done according to procedure: --------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Date Candidate signature Send the documentation either to the dedicated email or by post/courier. IMPORTANT NOTE: IF ANY OF THESE DOCUMENTS ARE MISSING, NOT READABLE OR OTHERWISE NOT COMPLETE, COURSE EVALUATION AND PROCESSING OF THE CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION CANNOT BE EXECUTED BY SEAGULL TRAINING DEPARTEMENT AND DELAYS WILL BE EXPERIENCED. INCOMPLETE DOCUMENTATION/NOT PASSING EVALUATION WILL BE SHREDDED AND A COMPLETE NEW SET MUST BE SENT TO SEAGULL AS. *If the candidate is the Master, another Senior Officers onboard must act as Assessor.

1.10 Equipment Specific JRC ECDIS training - verification Checklist

To ensure all Seagull courses are done according to our procedures, all documents and checklists must be signed and stamped. This must be done by Master or a qualified onboard Assessor or an office Assessor. If Seagull AS finds that an application is partially or entirely a duplicate of another application, the application will be rejected and certificate will not be issued. The candidate and company will be notified. The Master/Assessor must take all necessary precautions to ensure that all these requirements are met. The Master/Assessor is jointly responsible that the applications are according to our procedures and guidelines. In STCW 95 regulation I/6 and section A-I/6 is stated that all training and seafarers are required to be administered, supervised and monitored. The Master/Assessor is part of fulfilling this requirement. By signing this document I can confirm that the following items is done and verified: That the participant’s ID and personal details are correct. That the CBT is at least 95% completed and achieved an assessment score of at least 75%. 2 Training and education

2.1 Background

This Distance Course is approved by Japan Radio Co., Ltd (JRC) and will fulfil the requirement of JRC JAN-701B ECDIS, JAN-901B, JAN-2000 ECDIS, and JAN-901M/701 ECDIS. equipment specific training.

2.2 Learning objectives

The objective of this distance course is to give the Trainee equipment specific training for the JRC JAN-701B ECDIS, JAN-901B, JAN-2000 ECDIS, and JAN-901M/701 ECDIS. This is not a generic ECDIS course. Those who need a generic ECDIS course according to STCW requirements and IMO model course 1.27 must complete such course in addition to this course.
