Life is more colorful when you think outside the box, and for this reason I have always had a desire to
explore and create. Now in graduate school, I am pursuing these passions through Design, Engineering, and
Leadership Studies. This portfolio highlights some of my accomplishments in both academic and
professional endeavors, spanning the fields of design and engineering.

A child’s playroom is a place of collaboration, exploration and adventure. The Roly-Poly Chair encompasses this innate nature of the room, creating an exciting space for the whole family. Its many different locking positions allow for freedom of expression and customization, while its over-sized form promotes imagination and ensures that everyone in the family can participate.

Low friction with two distance locking positions at 180 degree
rotations.
Foam lining is safe and soft allowing for
comfortable resting.
The round, oversized structure gives feeling of
encloure and safety.
Size ensures that all members of the family can
participate.
Internal plastic support is both light and sturdy.

Inni-Tea CupThis project studied the design of the cup and saucer, questioning the forms they have traditionally taken. The Inifini-Tea Cup design gives the feeling of waves and ripples inherent in the tradition of tea drinking. The cup remains small and dainty, symbolizing the delicacy of a water droplet. The saucer continues to undulate from the bottom of the cup, illustrating the reaction from the water droplet in space. The design illustrates the important relationship between the cup and the saucer as well as the relationship between the cup and the tea. Images on the far right were part of a study of more traditional cup and saucer forms.
Stirling EngineThe Stirling Engine is a machine manufactured Gamma type stirling engine. Through precision manufacturing using lathes, mills, and prototraks, each piece was hand constructed and assembled. After assembly, the engine was tested and ran at approximately 1200rpm (among the highest in the class).

In2Green Hanger StudyThe In2Green hanger was designed after being approached by In2Green, an eco-apparel company. Their request was for me to design a display reminiscent of their logo to be used in trade shows and in stores. This design was a prototype, which could be scaled up and created in mass.

WristKey BraceletThe WristKey bracelet was created during a course long study of products geared toward college-age women. The WristKey was a solution to keeping track of house keys. Designed to be worn as a bracelet, the WristKey keeps the key safe and secure. An interior elastic band attaches to the key and allows for it to be easily removed and then returned to the enclosed pouch.
