S alman Khan is readying for the release of his next film Tiger Zinda Hai. He returns in an avatar that his fans adore — that of a larger-than-life hero, performing thrilling stunts, flaunting muscles and wooing Katrina Kaif. In Tiger Zinda Hai, the sequel to Ek Tha Tiger, that releas- es this Christmas, Salman is expected to up the ante. He reveals, “Tiger Zinda Hai is going to be bigger than Ek Tha Tiger for sure. It begins from where we left off in part one. Tiger Zinda Hai has things that you have never seen before in Indian cinema. We are making this film on a huge scale, espe- cially the action.” Talking about the sequences they filmed, he says, “The action scenes that I have shot with the team in Austria and Abu Dhabi are on another level. There are horses, tanks, big weapons and there’s this whole army, military backdrop. It’s like something you see in Hollywood films.” He makes anoth- er interesting revelation, “The plot is also inspired by a real incident. It’s a really nice script. I cannot tell you what the true story is, as Adi (Aditya Chopra) will kill me!” Salman still has to shoot about 30-40 per cent of the film. “We are going to Morocco for about 15 days and after that, we finish the film with a 40-day Abu Dhabi schedule,” he signs off. Even though the film created a lot of buzz and was made on a larger – than – life budget, Fitoor tanked miserably at the box office. Talking about failures, the director says, “Failures teach a lot. Fitoor taught me that every idea comes with a budget and one needs to operate with- in that.” For now, there’s a lot of buzz around Kedarnath simply because it stars the one and only Sara Ali Khan. Here’s what you should eat for a healthy thyroid O ur diet plays a significant role in the healthy functioning of the thyroid gland. This butterfly shaped organ sits in front of our neck and regulates vital body functions such as body temperature, breathing, heart rate, body weight and even menstrual cycle in women. Thus, it becomes important to eat right. Our diet should be healthy enough to strengthen our metabolism system, which further helps in maintaining proper thy- roid function. These foods include:- Yoghurt : Enriched in vitamin D and probiotics, yoghurt ensures good health of the thyroid gland. It balances good bacte- ria in our gut that are often disturbed by thyroid imbalances. Salmon: Salmon is the best seafood that boosts our metabolism. Salmon contains omega-3 fatty acid that boosts anti- inflammatory properties. Olive oil: The dietary fats like healthy oils are important for the proper function- ing of our bodies and even for losing weight. Consuming the right kind of fats and oils increases metabolism, satiates hunger and burns extra calories. Olive oil is loaded with anti-oxidants that fight against many diseases such as cancer and osteoporosis and increases serotonin in our blood. Green tea: Green tea contains antioxi- dant that helps in releasing fatty cells from the body. It also helps our liver to turn fat into energy, thereby helping in increased metabolism. Eggs: Egg whites are low in calories, fat- free and contain protein which is benefi- cial for our metabolism. Its yolk contains many metabolism-stoking nutrients, such as fat-soluble vitamins, essential fatty acids and choline, which attacks the gene mechanism that triggers our body to store fat around your liver. Moderate consump- tion of two whole eggs per day has no neg- ative effect on our body and helps in improving body’s lipid system. Iodine enriched foods; To include iodine in your diet, you can include sea vegeta- bles and seafood apart from eggs, spinach, garlic and sesame seeds. Stylin’ in the rain! T he romantic rainy season is a much- needed relief from the rising mercury, but it brings along with it the eternal dilemma of what to wear. With raindrops falling on your head, pack away full-length pants and leather shoes. Think of utilitarian styles with shorts, cropped trousers, and dresses in fabrics like neoprene, crepe and georgette. RAINY DAY "Every season requires you to alter your wardrobe, but do it without compromising on your sartorial sense," says designer Rutu Shah. Her advice: switch to light synthetics for the monsoons. "Go for boxy silhouettes which are less fitted, such as pleated skirts, culottes and circular dresses. They look super trendy and are easy to carry," she adds. Obviously, raincoats are here to stay, but in an updated version. Go for transparent coats in colourful prints and solid ones with self- coloured patchwork and detailing. Even puffer jackets and windcheaters are going from utilitarian to fashionable. Pair them with dresses, pencil skirts and cropped tops. BRIGHTEN UP While earthy tones such as deep merlot, chocolate, rust and beige give you a lean, opu- lent look, don't steer away from brights. Designer Karn Malhotra says, "Bad weather is already depressing, so why not go out and wear something vibrant to lift up that sombre atmosphere." Upgrade your rain footwear too by going for bright-coloured rain boots. Opt for colourful and see-through raincoats and umbrellas with accents and detailing. YOUR MONSOON MANUAL Keep it short. Store away your long flowy dresses and full-length pants. Replace stilettos with PVC metallics, lace- up sneakers. Go hands-free. Replace those large arm can- dies with plastic crossbody bags. Avoid tress stress and do the updo. Braided updos work best for the rains. Minimal make-up is key. Go for waterproof lipsticks in plum and berry tones. ASTRO SPEAK Have you recently lost some faith in the future, Aries? Isn't it time to do something about it, especially where your personal life is concerned? You could find the answers to these questions if you'd take a second look at the quality of your close relation- ships. Who knows? Love might give you back your enthusiasm for life. If you have a tendency to do a little too much dreaming, reality could catch up with you now. The time has come to react imme- diately, Taurus. Certain financial or profes- sional goals may see some delays. You need to figure out how to get things going again in a more concrete and secure direc- tion. Don't let anything get past you today. MAR 21 - APR 20 ARIES APR 21 - MAY 20 TAURUS Everyone has impulsively bought something without really thinking about it first. As far as you're concerned, Gemini, it happens a little more often than it should. Have you looked at your closet full of the clothes you never wear? Why do you keep them? Is it reassuring? Don't get caught up in fashion crazes. Try to be more careful with your money. You're in tune with the atmosphere around you today because of your tolerance, humanity, and the respect you have for everyone, no matter what their position in society or intellectual capacity. Generosity is coming alive inside you, Cancer. The one thing you want to do is under- stand the people close to you. Support them and show them that they can count on you. MAY 21 - JUN 20 GEMINI JUN 22 - JUL 23 CANCER If you tend to be a little anxious about soli- tude, Leo, it doesn't necessarily mean you're dependent on the people close to you. That isn't the only contradictory thing about your behavior. You tend to want to bring people together while keeping your distance. From now on, you should try to be a little clearer in your relationships. JUL 24 - AUG 23 LEO Sometimes it's hard for you to believe some- thing unless you see it firsthand, Virgo. However, the period you're in now may be pushing you to try and understand some of the mysteries on faith. Though you probably aren't one to do this very often, you may be feeling some kind of mystical impulse that makes you think about the nature of your beliefs. AUG 24 - SEP 23 VIRGO Love is in the air, Libra! You may encounter some wonderfully passionate situations today. You're ready to live these marvelously rich and emotional experiences to the fullest. Put your doubts and insecurities away for the time being. Lose yourself in pleasure and the unknown. Have a great time! Today's powerful astral phenomena will encourage you to develop your skill as a visionary, Scorpio, no matter what you do with your day. You're one of those rare people who can sense before anyone else the changes that will happen in the world. Let these feel- ings encourage you. Use them to believe in tomorrow. SEP 24 - OCT 22 LIBRA OCT 23 - NOV 22 SCORPIO It's time to get down to work, Sagittarius. At the moment, you can't depend solely on your natural creativity, spontaneity, imagination, and originality to get by. You need to demon- strate a certain amount of pragmatism and self-discipline to reach your goals. This will certainly seem more difficult than it really is. It's time to have faith in attributes other than your intuition. What do you want? It isn't always easy to live with others, Capricorn. You may ask too much of the people close to you and not be able to stand it when they don't live up to your high expectations. Your idealism makes it hard for you to compromise. This attitude can cause conflict and make you hard to live with. Change it. NOV 23 - DEC 22 SAGITTARIUS DEC 23 - JUL 20 CAPRICORN It's possible you took a chance on someone who has disappointed you, Aquarius. You were especially tolerant and patient, but now it's time to finally settle things and put your cards on the table. Don't be afraid to do what you have to do in order to protect yourself and the people you love. JAN 21 - FEB 23 AQUARIUS Have been letting yourself go lately, Pisces? Now it's time to take better care of your body. This new initiative will make you feel happier and more ready to tackle life again. You may hesitate over whether or not you should try some of the alternative medicines that you hear about. This is only a small dilemma. Be glad you've finally decided to live a healthier lifestyle.
