TRANSITIONAL HOUSING MINISTRY

Thank you for your continued support of our Transitional Housing Ministry (THM) through both your thoughts and prayers, and your financial contributions in the PINK Sunday envelopes. As a result of the pandemic restrictions on attending Mass at Saints Peter and Paul, our donations to the program have decreased. At the same time, the financial needs of our families have gotten greater. Please consider making a contribution on behalf of our homeless families in the PINK Sunday envelopes. Our families are most appreciative of every-thing they are receiving as a result of your tremendous generosity. If you would like to learn more about the Transitional Housing Ministry, please contact Tom Dorn at 630-270-7303 or [email protected].

Saint Vincent de Paul

“We ought to have confidence in God that he will look after us since we know for certain that as long as we are grounded in that sort of love and trust we will be always under the protection of God in heaven, we will remain unaffected by evil and never lack what we need, even when everything we possess seems headed for disaster.” ~St.Vincent de Paul (McKenna, Praying with Vincent, p.47)

Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who

are needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and its patron, Saint

Vincent de Paul. Please call 630-718-2127 to learn more or to request assistance.

Saints Peter and Paul’s Spiritual Adoption Program

Please join Saints Peter and Paul’s pro-life parishioners to pray daily for unborn children as part of our Spiritual Adoption Program. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of the unborn baby (name of baby) that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion. We look forward to the birth of these unborn children December 25, 2020. Please join our prayer campaign to save the life of an unborn child.

“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” (Jeremiah 1:5)

Saints Peter & Paul Virtual Baby Bottles for Life has officially ended, however the site is still active if you

would like to make a contribution. Please visit www.onechoiceonelife.org and click on the events tab and the virtual baby bottle link to make your donation. This campaign benefits, supports and educates pregnant women facing crisis or unintended pregnan-cies. The funds collected through the Bottles for Life campaign support the programs and services of the Waterleaf Medical Clinic and Education and Resource Center located in Aurora.

Earlier in 2019, Kiera was not sure she could handle having, yet alone raising, a third child and stated she intended to have an abortion. She told her advocate that her family was involved in drugs and illegal activities, but she has always wanted more for her children. At 15 she was forced to have an abortion, but this time the decision was hers…and the ultrasound she received during her first visit to Waterleaf changed everything. She told us that when she looked at her little baby on the screen and considered the sweet boys she already had, she wondered how she could take a sibling from them. Kiera expressed that Waterleaf provided a place for her to step out of chaos and make the best decision for herself as well as all of her sons. She reports the “big” brothers are a huge help and love showing their baby brother new things.

We have a table right inside the Ministry Center doors for you to drop off registrations, pick up a registration packet if necessary, and return your child's Faith & Life book form this past RE year. Access to the vestibule will be from 8:30AM - 3:30PM, Monday through Friday. Please follow all recommended protocol (6 ft. social distancing, wear a face mask,

etc.) if you choose to come in person to drop off/pick up paperwork or to return textbooks. Stay safe and be kind. If you have an upcoming first or second grade student who is not currently registered for religious education or for the parish school, we invite you to join our program! It’s designed to engage students in the Catholic faith, not only preparing them for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation, but also providing ongoing instruction and faith-sharing each year. The Diocese of Joliet requires two years of preparation prior to receiving a Sacrament, which means that children typically start preparing for First Communion in first or second grade. Registration for classes has been ongoing since April, but it’s not too late to sign up! We look forward to supporting you and your family on your path towards Christ. Registration packets contain info regarding class times, fees, etc. and can be downloaded from the RE page of the parish website or picked up from the table inside the Ministry center main doors.

• Completed registration packets can also be returned via mail or by placing the paperwork IN AN ENVELOPE in the drop box outside the Ministry Center. Paperwork placed in the drop box must be in an envelope, not just paper clipped or

stapled together. Registrations can also be emailed to [email protected]. • You WILL receive a confirmation email once your registration has been processed; it just may take a little longer than

usual. • As always, do not let finances be a deterrent to getting your registration in. We are happy to work with you to make alternate payment arrangements. Just let us know. • Many opportunities are available to help out! In addition to catechists and assistants, hall monitors, office help and crossing guards are needed.

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic Men’s Fraternal Service Organization founded by Father McGivney. All of the good works we do are informed by our four core principles: Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. The Knights also have an insurance program that has a top notch rating. For more information, please contact our Grand Knight, Tom Rogers at 630-818-7818 or our Membership Director, Nick Thompson at 815-871-4218. The Kaycee Cub Hall is available for parties and meet-ings. The Naperville Knights of Columbus meets there on the first Tuesday every month. Contact Al Knoeck at 630-369-2992 for more information. Our aluminum can collection has been a great success. It has provided us the funding we need to support our priests and seminarians. Please continue to drop off your aluminum cans next to the trailer behind the Kaycee Club Hall. The Knights of Columbus is always seeking new members to join our organization. However, the recent outbreak of coronavirus has presented the Knights with new challenges to our membership recruitment. As a result, the Supreme Council has made it possible for new members to join our ranks via an online exemplification. The First (Charity); the Second (Unity); and the Third (Fraternity) Degrees are now available online, but only on certain days and times. If you have any interest in joining, you can go to the Knights of Columbus website at KofC.org for more information or contact our Membership Director, Nick Thompson, at 815-871-4218.
