NO MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING IN JULY

The Sherwood Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize its June Business of the Month

TWO SISTERS CATERING

Because the date of our regular First Thursday Membership Luncheon falls on July 5 and so many will be taking vacation that week, we will skip our July meeting this year. Make plans to attend our August Luncheon on August 2 and hear our speaker, Col. Brian Robinson, Commander of the 19th Airlift Wing, the host unit at the Little Rock Air Force Base.

At each Chamber ribbon cutting, the honored business receives a "Welcome Basket," filled with goodies which include promotional items from fellow Chamber members. We're currently running low on our stock of those promotional items. If any of you have items that you'd like to contribute for inclusion in Welcome Baskets, please call the Chamber office at 835-7600, and let Marcia know.

Our Chamber office will close at 4:30 Tuesday, July 3 and will re-open at 8:30 on Monday, July 9. We'd like to wish everyone a happy and safe 4th of July, as we re-member those who helped our country gain independence and continue to be thank-ful for our freedom. Don't forget to proudly fly your flag!

The weekly Farmers' Market events are being enjoyed by shop-pers and vendors, as well as neighboring businesses. Both BJ's Plants and Produce and JoJo's BarBQ report a big in-crease in business on Thursday evenings. Come down to the Market District on Thursdays from 5-8 PM and check it out.

Several members of the Sherwood Young Professionals partici-pated in the Cash Mob (like a Flash Mob, without the choreo-graphed dance routine) at Mama's Gyros Grill on June 19. The purpose was to bring revenue to the designated locally-owned business, while connecting with some new and familiar fac-es. Besides enjoying a delicious meal, the group had some lively discussions and a fun time! They will be planning a simi-lar event soon. If you're interested in being a part of the Sher-wood Young Professionals, call Jessica Rodgers, at 834-3441.

DECLARED SUCCESSFUL!

Our Membership Committee is visiting Chamber members who have not been able to be as involved in Chamber func-tions as they'd like and are letting them know about other ways to get involved besides the regular Monthly Member-ship Luncheons. The Committee is seeking feedback from members to see how the Chamber can better serve them. Let us know if you'd like to be a part of this committee.

This committee currently meets at 9:00 A.M. on the 2nd Thursday of each month. We'll meet on July 12 in the conference room of the Wildwood Center. Since we keep outgrowing meeting space, we haven't found a perma-nent "home." If you're interested in joining us, please call the Chamber office, at 835-7600, to find out details.
