JULY 23-27 At Maryville College Maryville, SC What you need to know! A Knock At the Door Montreat Middle School Conference Attention churches, Middle School Youth, and their parents, We are doing a NEW THING as a presbytery and would love to have you join us! Our presbytery is getting a group to go together as one large group to the Montreat Middle School Conference at Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee. This fabulous conference that is from Wednesday July 23 rd to Sunday July 27 th is for all rising 6th graders to 8th graders. This year’s theme is A Knock At the Door! We are hopeful that by traveling together as a large group, we can save some money on transportation, we can stay together in the dorm, and most importantly, we can develop strong relationships across our Presbytery. We also hope to encourage attendance from youth who come from churches that might not be able to find adult volunteers who could attend the conference. At this Conference over 500 Presbyterian Middle Schoolers from all over the country come together and hear the word of God proclaimed to them through keynotes, worship, music, recreation, and small groups of their own peers. The cost to go is $415* per youth and this cost includes a registration fee, a place to stay, all meals at the conference, and transportation. We will stay on campus in one of the dorm buildings and eat at the College’s cafeteria. In order to make sure we have our Presbytery Middle Schoolers registered in time for the Middle School Conference please turn in the included Registration Form and a FULL PAYMENT by FRIDAY MARCH 14 th to your youth leader. PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION FORM

ATTENTION CHURCHES AND YOUTH LEADERS, We are doing a NEW THING as a presbytery and would love to have you join us! Our presbytery is getting a group to go together as one large group to the Montreat Middle School Conference at Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee. This fabulous conference that is from Wednesday July 23rd to Sunday July 27th is for all rising 6th graders to 8th graders. This year’s theme is A Knock At the Door! WHAT IS THE MONTREAT MIDDLE SCHOOL CONFERNCE? At this Conference that is put on by Montreat Conference Center over 500 Presbyterian Middle Schoolers from all over the country come together at Maryville College and hear the word of God proclaimed to them through keynotes, worship, music, recreation, and small groups of their own peers. We will stay on campus in one of the dorm buildings and eat at the College’s cafeteria. BENEFITS OF GOING AS A PRESBYTERY We are hopeful that by traveling together as a large group, we can save some money on transportation, we can stay together in the dorm, and most importantly, we can develop strong relationships across our Presbytery. We also hope to encourage attendance from youth who come from churches that might not be able to find adult volunteers who could attend the conference. THE COST The cost to go is $415 per youth and this cost includes a registration fee, a place to stay, all meals at the conference, and transportation. The cost to go is $415, but your church might have funds, fundraisers, or members who can help supplement that cost for your youth. Please decide on a set price for your youth and advertise your churches cost by adjusting the price for the attached youth flyer. For example some churches are advertising the cost as $215 and covering the additional $200 for their youth through fundraisers or their budget. So why their youth pay $215 to their church, the church pays $415 a person to the presbytery. If you need an electronic copy of a the Youth Flyer so you can adjust the advertised price please contact Nick Reed at nreedfpctusc.org. HOW TO REGISTER? Please have your youth participants turn in their forms to your church by March 14th so you can get them to the Presbytery by Monday March 17th. To register turn in your youth’s or adult’s forms and $415 for each participant to the Presbytery office by March 17th. If your youth need more time to pay the full cost work out a payment plan with them so they can have more time, but please have your church go ahead and pay the full payment for them by March 17th. QUESTIONS Please contact Nick Reed (205-752-3531 or [email protected]) or Emily Roberts ([email protected]) if you have questions or need help registering your youth.
